The first time I used the Bastion Group, was when I was booking a hotel in Amsterdam. I have made the reservation by telephone. Nowadays I book my hotels through their website. But phone was fine. I got a friendly lady on the phone and they arranged it all just fine for me within the hour I received a fax confirming my reservation. LocationLocated on the west side of Amsterdam next to the motorway. The lady sent me a fax with directions and it was actually quite easy to find. According to the information you were close to the center of Amsterdam. But my experience is that this rather disappointing. You have to walk to the tram and then you have several stops by tram to r...Read More

Last year I spent a week at this hotel.LocationThe Tulip Inn City West, the name says it all, is located in Amsterdam-West and that's not the best location as a tourist. To the center of Amsterdam, you have to walk first 5-10 minutes to the tram 17 and then it takes about 30 minutes to get to the city center. In addition, the Osdorp district, where the Tulip Inn City West is located, has not the best reputation. Personally, we have seen nothing which was annoying, but it doesn’t feels quite safe there either.Hotel roomWe were allocated a room on the sixth floor. It was very quiet there. In the room were several facilities, including a TV, a kettle with a...Read More

At the hotel, you see at your right the Restaurant De Roode Leeuw. The doormat in the lounge also has a lion from the Dutch arms. Well found, I say. I had the information describing the hotel and that it had a special restaurant. I must say it looked classy. This restaurant is also breakfast in the morning.ReceptionWhen we arrived at the reception there was nobody around. But just a ring with the bell and a friendly word to us. The staff I met was very hospitable. The lounge itself is really quite small. There is a bench and a table in a corner and that's it! In the window you will find some information about nearby attractions. The hotelI will immediat...Read More

Address: Spaarndammerdijk 302, 1013 XZ AmsterdamTel: 020-4109670Westcord / Art belongs to the Golden Tulip hotel groupThe modern hotel has 190 rooms, including 130 three-star and 60 four-star. The difference of the rooms you see on the door. 4 stars = L (arge) and XL, that sign is on the outer door of the room. At my door the L. In the hotel are also meeting facilities. But I have not used these. The parkingThe hotel has an underground parking garage, with plenty of places. At least I had no trouble getting a spot. The cost for one day are 22.50 euros. Not cheap, but parking is expensive in Amsterdam. For the hotel have parking along the street, bu...Read More

In the immediate vicinity of the Hermitage Amsterdam is paid parking (limited) possible. The nearest parking lots are those of the Music Theatre, Parking Waterlooplein in Valkenburgerstraat and Markenhoven in Anne Street, near the entrance of the IJ tunnel.Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch artist who was born and raised in the Netherlands. Many people are familiar with the fact that he has cut off his earlobe. Van Gogh had a peculiar way of painting and was a complex person. He didn’t only cut off his ear but also treatened to murder his friend and was locked up in a psychiatric ward for treatment. There are sometimes stories circulated that Vincent in his whole life had sold only one painting....Read More
