Description: One of the most frequented sites in Amsterdam, the Anne Frank Huis is a living testament to the life and death of Anne Frank and her family, whose years of hiding from the Nazi’s in the building’s annex have been read by countless million in The Diary of Anne Frank. Once in the museum, you’ll walk past the original bookcase that once hid the entrance to the Frank family’s annex and climb a narrow staircase into the surprisingly small annex itself. Here, Anne Frank and her family spent 2 years in near complete silence. Interactive exhibits in the museum provide more information on the house and its occupants, but it’s the humble annex itself, still preserved as it was during the Frank family’s occupation, that most visitors find most stirring.
