Over the course of a week, we explored the beauty and mysteries of the Scared Valley high in the Peruvian Andes. We visited such wonderful places as Cusco, Pisac, and Ollantayambo. We also explored many Incan Ruins, culminating with the magnificent Machu Picchu.

Eleven visits later, Machu Picchu still remains inexpressibly beautiful. Take the bus, the train, hike for one day or hike for four days, and be assured you will not be disappointed. The most important thing is that Machu Picchu is within reach of everybody.

Mystical, magical, plain fantastic, Machu Picchu, descriptions fail you! It may be the most visited site in South America but all the press it receives is more than deserved. I have harboured a desire to visit this sacred place for the last 20 years and the city did not disappoint!
