The customer service was terrible. Many problems that did not get solved. Room and Food were average. Nothing was done special for the bride and groom when asked. Never went the extra mile to make them feel welcome or special. Very disappointed

First off, the staff at this resort is far ...Read more My wife and I took our 11 month old son last October (2010) after debating on whether or not to take him. Looking back, we are happy we made the decision to take him as we will never forget the experience. First off, the staff at this resort is far and away the nicest we have ever dealt with. Every staff member was truly helpful in one way or another. The way the Mexican people revere children is such a breath of fresh air. Our son was treated so well, it put my wife and I at ease from the very moment we stepped foot on the property. The service at the restaurant and snack bars was great. You're always met with a smiling face that is willing to help. The food itself was good. The fish and fruit selection was always over the top and extremely fresh. There was a nice selection for each meal, everything was switched up nicely, meal after meal. There was never a moment where we were not fully satisfied with the food. Alcohol could be found readily at numerous locations but the little guy with us we took it easy for the most part. Sol Melia caters to children is a spectacular way but not in a way that obstructs the adults from having a good time. The staff do a wonderful job of balancing adult and children activities. The grounds were always immaculately groomed and well maintained. We really dont have anything bad to say about the Melia. From top to bottom we had a fantastic experience. Even with an 11 month old we managed to have a great time. Our one regret was that we didnt venture to downtown. We planned on it but we felt so at home at the resort that we didnt need to explore. The marina is just a 5 minute walk away and a nice morning or evening stroll. We had heard about the possible safety concerns in PV but we didnt encounter anything even remotely resembling an unsafe scenario. My wife and I are planiing a 2012 or2013 return to the Sol Melia. This time without kids. Although we had a wonderful time with our son, we feel we will be able to explore the town a bit more and enjoy more of the wonderful "drink" selection at the resort. The Sol Melia is a fantastic resort. We will be back soon. Thank you Melia! Close
