My husband and I enjoyed the staff, grounds, and our vacation. We are thinking of returning with our son at a later time. I would definetly recommentd going with the Priveledge package.

The grounds are beautifully ...Read more We just got back from a dream vacation (10/09-10/21) and we have NOTHING to complain about this resort! I don't know where to start, but let me begin with clearing up any negative reviews we read prior to our trip. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the staff is beyond helpful and friendly! We were treated like "kings" and everyone saw to it that we received the best possible service. The resort itself is located a little over an hr away from the Cancun airport, but an easy ride with the prior booked transportation. We were greeted with an exotic cocktail and check in was a smooth transaction. We had upgraded to a superior room (which I highly recommend) before our trip and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Best part is...we stepped out onto our balcony and had a fantastic view of the carribean ocean. The resort offers vouchers (depending on your length of stay) for their specialty restaurants and we tested ALL of them. Food quality, service and decor was excellent and we enjoyed the various cuisines they offered! We also had no complaints re their buffet! Every day they had a different themed night and the food quality was great. There was ALWAYS fresh salads, fruits and fresh cooking stations to grill up whatever was offered. Chicken, beef, pork, fish and much more! We live in Vegas and have sampled MANY buffets and some can't even match the quality and choices offered at their buffet. Even the pickiest people can find something delicious to eat! The bar staff was great and they even served us drinks right on the beach! Anything we asked them to mix was served to us! This was our first time in the Carribean and we've traveled to many all inclusives in Europe (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza etc)...it was one of the best we've ever experienced! The ocean was like stepping into a warm bath tub! It was beautiful (not too wavy except on stormy days) and the fish we observed when we snorkeled was great. There's also a nice lagoon on their property so those afraid of the ocean can easily swim in this. Yes...the reviews re the rocky waters is true! You either have to step around the coral rocks or wear water shoes (we did so and had no problems)! Once safely in, your surrounded by the amazing sea life (we even had a sting ray swim by us one day)! The free water activities offered are an added bonus...snorkel gear, kayaks, wind sailing. We also enjoyed the free bikes they offered and we took daily trips to the close by Marina. The Dolphin Discovery is located there and you can see (free) dolphins, seals, manatees etc. Of course you can do various tours too (which you can book either before your trip or directly in the hotel lobby). I can recommend the Chichen Itza and Coba/Tulum tour. Pick up and tours themselves were well organized. Tennis courts are also available and their daily and nightly entertainment staff work hard to make your holiday a fun experience. They also have vendors set up during some evenings so you can bargain with them when it comes to purchasing your souveniors. We recommend to tip all the hard workers every now and then with a dollar bill and a smile...this isn't required, but does go a long way! Upon arrival we were informed that only a first floor room would be available (and due to security concerns and other reviewers complaints about theft on the first floor) and that if we wanted a second story or higher room we had to go next door to ...Read more Upon arrival we were informed that only a first floor room would be available (and due to security concerns and other reviewers complaints about theft on the first floor) and that if we wanted a second story or higher room we had to go next door to the Yuccatan. After this annoyance we got a 4th floor room, it was decent but nothing to write home about, very average for an all inclusive resort. You have to pay for a safe $3 a day, wi-fi is not free, and water costs about $4 a bottle and is not provided on a daily basis by room service. The grounds of the hotel are well kept, with an army of workers yet a bit on the older side although well maintained. The swimming pools all close at 8pm, that was pretty lame imho. The food was below average at the buffet, and adequate at the 5 specialty eateries there. I recommend the Japanese one as it was the best food on the property. Shopping was nearly non-existant in Puerto Adventuras with the prices on items higher than the US on everything unlike real marketplaces in mexico. The beach was nice, and well maintained but a bit rocky (coral washes up on shore a lot, bring swim shoes) If you plan to stay here and are going to upgrade to "privileged" status you will most likely be overpaying. For the same price as upgrading your room you should book at a higher end hotel room's standard room and will get a much nicer stay for the same price or less. We choose the standard room and felt that an in room coffee maker and 2 beers in your mini fridge per day were not worth the extra $360/week charge. Drinks were good and bartenders were friendly. I wont stay here again, although it wasn't bad, it wasn't all that great either. My wife's expensive prescription sunglasses and one of our $30 beach towels was stolen from the pool area and my $5 walmart tee shirt was also stolen, go figure. Other guests told us of items like sandals and random things missing from their rooms as well. What ever you do if you stay here do NOT accept a first floor room as the security of your belongings is certainly not a concern of the staff there. Close

There will be people who seem to be airport staff that will ask you who ...Read more As a note of warning to anybody visiting Cancun: Upon your exit of baggage security you need to walk straight out of the airport. Your travel agency will be outside, not inside. There will be people who seem to be airport staff that will ask you who your agency is and will bring you over to a small area inside the airport and will show you to a person. They WILL try to get you to do a timeshare scam. Do not buy it, just walk straight out of the airport and find your travel agency. Now onto the actual hotel. We bought the best suites there were, surprisingly they didn't have a bed (that wouldn't break a spine) for my son. So we had to quarrel with the staff for hours to get a decent bed for him to sleep on. However, afterward things were smooth sailing. It is an all inclusive vacation, so all of the restaurants with buffets were free. The food was spectacular! Our favorite was Las Brisas, they had different culturally themed foods for every night, most of them were very well prepared and scrumptious. Desserts are fantastic as well. For the mornings they would have very fresh fruit with delicious, strong coffee. Everything was up to par when it came for food. Now for the aquatic entertainment. There are many pools to choose from, some even have a bar in which you can swim to and get your unlimited drinks! As for the beach, it was beautiful. There are rocks, shells, and parts of bleached reef (sadly) on the beach, so getting some swim shoes is a must. Other than that you can rent snorkels for an hour and go look around the reefs. There are a plethora of fish, it really is a magnificent sight. There is also a small lagoon off the left of the beach with water so warm it's amazing. The only downside to the pools is that they have these very loud people always screaming into microphones and playing annoying games. It really got on our nerves. There are tons of tours to choose from, please do try one, it will be a wonderful experience! We chose the snorkeling tour, where you're taken to an estuary called Yal-Ku first. Fish, upon fish, it is wonderful! Next, you're taken to a Maya village where the Maya people there work with the tour company to provide a wonderful experience. There are underground caves with the clearest water I've ever swam in. It was truly an amazing tour, and I recommend it. As a whole, the vacation was very great! I had a splendid time there and I would go again. Again, please remember to stay clear of the timeshare scammers at the airport, just walk straight out and find your travel agency.
