The Lindner Hotel am Belvedere is located in Vienna on 12th Rennweg. It has four stars, 219 hotel rooms and suites and is part of the Lindner Hotels and Resorts. The hotel has a restaurant, a lobby bar and a wine tavern. In addition there are six function rooms available. The hotel has a fitness center with sauna and solarium.

The hotel is located near the famous Belvedere Palace, a manageable system of the Baroque with sumptuous gardens and recreational facilities. The Rennweg much frequented by cars. A garage is on the right side of the hotel. The trains run only from Munich to Vienna Westbahnhof. To get to the hotel, it is best to buy a 48-hour or 72-hour ticket and may in the coming days, all "public transport" use. Two minutes' walk from the hotel a tram stop 71, which is very handy. The leaves but only up to the Schwarzenberg Platz. From the West Railway Station you can take the U3 direction Simmering and change trains at the station road, take the escalator up to the station Wien Mitte and another two minutes ahead of the S 9 eastwards to Rennweg. I had the ADAC CityPlan Vienna here, because there are also the numbers of public transport lines and the stops are marked.

On the afternoon of my arrival day I had even looked at some of Vienna, was at St. Stephen's and walked around. Then I drove to the hotel and was greeted very friendly. The reception area is bright and big. I expressed the wish for a room for smokers and one that goes out to the back, because I did not want to be right on the street. Which was fulfilled to my satisfaction. I was given according to the description of Tchibo Travel, my information pack and a voucher for entry as well as coffee and cake. I was still explaining what the hotel has to offer, and I got the room key. I was told I would get a double room because everything else was already booked. I agreed. I could take the lift or use the stairs. The corridors are carpeted and very quiet. The hotel and makes a neat and clean appearance. In addition to the reception, there are two computers, where you can go anytime for free on the Internet. The devices are already tapped some of the buttons wobbled, but it all worked.

The room is opened by means of a smart card. You stick by the front door into a slot, and the light comes on. From the door I came into a small hallway, going on from where the bathroom right. The wash area was separated from the rest room, but open and inviting. The toilet was separate. In the right pane of the room were two beds with ceiling trim, and it had been placed bathrobes. The sleeping area behind the headboard is adorned with a pretty floral motif. Links to the wall stood a desk and an office chair. Inside was a mini-bar, was also a kettle and coffee and tea accessories to make it. In addition, there was little information material about the hotel. I could read that trips are offered. Gar Budapest or Prague, you can watch from here. Of the beds has a direct view on the TV that is mounted on the wall. They were all established programs in the menu, but nothing unusual in size. Again in the corner stood a chair that was made to look old. The curtains had to pinch and provided a sufficient darkness and privacy from the outside. What was added in my room: It was right beside the elevator. At the head of my bed, I heard noises and had always about the impression that would go along on the street outside the tram. At first I thought that too, while it was up to something else. But it did not bother me really. Otherwise the room was nice, clean and quiet, and I think if I had expressed a desire for a move, which also would have been fulfilled.

With the coupons I was able to get on the two nights that I was in the hotel, at the bar each have a very tasty cake with whipped cream and chocolate. I've taken to your room. Here were also always some people who want to enjoy alcohol in wine taverns, there is the whole range of wines. Dishes from the restaurant, I have not tried. Breakfast was included and offered all the usual dishes such as buns, bread, cereals, the matching deposits, butter, margarine, jam, Nutella, and so on. Not so good for me as a vegetarian, I found that a bun with bacon places was there and was not labelled as such. There are now quite a lot of people who renounce meat, not only religious but also for ethical reasons, and even if the dead animal, then please separately. Otherwise, it was all right. There was a pleasant atmosphere. Present were many business travellers, couples and also a few solo travellers.

The city is not far, in just over 20 minutes you are there. From the hotel it is only a short stroll to the Schwarzenberg Platz. Here stands the equestrian statue of Prince Karl Philipp zu Schwarzenberg. A series worth seeing buildings surrounding the square. At the southern end are the fountain at the War Memorial and the Red Army. This is where the roads. Turns right and the Prinz-Eugen-Strasse, and left the Rennweg. About the former leads to the main entrance of the Upper Belvedere, on the latter to the Lower Belvedere with the garden. The park with the castle was built in 1718-1723 for Prince Eugene of Savoy in the Baroque style. Through the entire garden, pull gravel paths, which are provided with close-cropped hedges and small trees. A series of elaborate statues and fountains delight the heart of every visitor. About staircases leads to the front area of the Upper Belvedere, which is decorated by a labyrinthine system is designed. From here the view is worth to the city and the hills behind it. Due to the side benches are set up, inviting you to linger. In the castle house temporary exhibitions of paintings by famous masters. Scattered in the grounds of a sphinx statues in armour and with long braids are placed.

The staff was always friendly and eager to meet the needs of the guests. It consisted of Germans and Austrians. Had you walked a question or wanted to order a taxi, simply to the reception. This is also staffed around the clock. Highlight is, of course, that everything was always clean and, just as you would expect in a 4-star hotel. Nowhere I found dirt and had to tease me about something. I have not regretted that I had chosen this hotel. Next time I would probably book directly, because I need these coupons and information pack is not really. That would have been even cheaper. But I've had a great time and am happy to come back here every night. When I again am planning a stay in Vienna, this hotel is for me definitely the first choice.

From the food I was really excited and I can therefore recommend you the Schwarzer Adler. Who thinks the Schwarzer Adler is too expensive for dinner you can also visit him at lunchtime. Every day from Monday to Saturday there is a two-course lunch menu for € 10, -. Our buffet food was certainly more expensive but of excellent quality. There were perch, beef, vegetables, rice, a rich salad buffet, a variety of appetizers and an excellent dessert buffet.
The quality of the food was excellent. The meat was very tender and the fish was excellent and perfectly seasoned. The food is given a clear first

The atmosphere was harmonious. A large painting in the Andreas Hofer Andreas Hofer hall.
The hotel has several bars (Eagles, Hunter, Arguin, Bürgerstube) and a vodka bar with over 50 different vodkas!

The service was mediocre. Although the reception was very friendly and the boss came by to greet us warmly. However, the coffee brewing took a surprisingly long time. My wife had already eaten piece of the pie came to the coffee - even though they remembered the top twice. That should work better in a traditional company. An upper spilled all the drinks on a tray - but what can happen. Otherwise, the service was polite. Nevertheless, a total of only moderate.

The restaurant is part of the hotel so you can run into guests of the hotel. You don’t really realise that you are in a hotel or more in a positive way. The facilities are good with sufficient staff members, toilets and of course the lobby area were you can sit and wait for your friends to arrive while enjoying a cup of coffee. It certainly has the efficiency of a hotel and the toilets and everything else looked very clean.

The overall experience was very pleasant and we had a wonderful time here. Maybe next time we will actually stay the night! The food was delicious and more then enough choice for everybody! Four stars for this restaurant from me.

On my first visit to the "Maredo" I was surprised by the size of this restaurant. There is a huge room with no windows. It arches over the space with a glass roof partly impressive, beautiful stained glass windows. In addition there are still some lights. Larger exotic potted plants and wrought-iron figures of cattle grazing and cacti provide South American flair.

The restaurant is very spacious - almost feel the expanse of the pampas, when one goes over the soft red carpet through the lobby - no, below. Although the room is very spacious, it does not feel uncomfortable. The interior architecture is designed so refined that it seems a little room anywhere else. Everyone finds the angle that they particularly suits - whether on the podium at half step height, near the green rock garden, in one of the niche-like seating or - weather permitting - even outside, in front of the restaurant, where there are some wooden tables and one can polish off his steak with a direct view of the Vienna State Opera. The establishment is different in style and material, forming various seating areas, which break up the size of this hall-like room sent.

On our first visit to the "Maredo" – we had lunch - we opted for steak, 180 g. With this we had a plate of salad from the salad bar or a Papa Asada - these are big baked potato with skin - they are often called " Baked potatoes called "filled with an acidic sauce based on sour cream (sour cream). They taste very good. So the decision was difficult. But in view of the stately salad bars in the middle of the room but I chose the salad.
The salad bar played all piecing - of olives on sprouts, crisp salads, pasta salads, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, carrots, red beets to a variety of dressings or seasonings. Everything is fresh and appetizing. Also a small basket of bread served with a kind of white bread - also very tasty. For steak sauce lovers can I serve with a steak sauce in small glass vials, which are on the tables. This sauce is a kind of tomato-chili sauce that goes well with steaks.

Of drinks there is the usual - beer, wine, soft drink, what your heart desires. The quality of the steak was very satisfactory. Outside there was the typical fat edge of rump steak, inside it was tender and low in fat.
The staff is mostly South American and very friendly. Back and wait again you have to be a little until you can order something and get it.

The "Maredo" is a bit of luck. If you're lucky, everything fits - and you spend a good time with good food there. If you have bad luck, is the steak that was supposed to be medium, too raw, children scream at the next table throughout the meal and the place is so empty that it is uncomfortable and you have the feeling that you could hear a pin drop ... When walking in the town you can’t pretend that you haven’t seen it. It can be seen from anywhere in the town and is located high on the top of the mountain. I’m talking about the Hohensalzburg Fortress in the city of Salzburg.

The fortress was been built in the 11th century and has seen it share of battles throughout the years and although it was hold stand for many, it was surrender in the 16th century to the famous Napoleon.

There are two ways to get up to the castle. First you can take the train up to the castle and something I would recommend when you have walking difficulties or you can just climb the route since it’s perfectly walkable and for free. It took us around 20 minutes to take the top but it was actually a pleasant walk since we had gorgeous weather.

Visiting the fortress isn’t for free. You will have to pay around ten euro’s per person to get in. There are other types of tickets available so please check the website before you go. You have the option of just wondering around or take the free audio tour. Since we walked all the way up but opted for the audio tour since we actually wanted to learn more about the fortress.

The audio tour takes you through the entire complex and tells you about each room and the history. It was quiet interesting. The tour starts with the construction of the building and about the inhabitants. It tells you about the conditions in the prison cell and the famous people who have been imprisoned here.

Since you are high up the mountain you have the most impressive view over the area and the city. We were lucky with a clear view but we were told that’s mostly not the case. You can see far over the green lands at one side and building at the other side. Quiet a different kind of view. After visiting the fortress i would suggest to walk a bit fruther and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can see the outer defenses designed to slow down any attackers.

The fortress is a true beauty and worth visiting. I was amazed by the state the building was in. Althought its hundreds of years old the building was still in a great condition. At the time we were there they were working on the site in order to keep it in a perfect state.

It was worth the trip and at first i thought ten euro’s was a bit steep but after spending a good two hours here i think it’s certainly worth it. For me five stars.
