At Gyespa Restaurant, Keylong we had coffee, Cheese pakoras and chinese noodles. At such a remote area it was a relief to have this kind of food. The rates were also economical. The very good thing about this restaurant was that they cooked everything fresh. although it was little time consuming but healthy. Since it was difficult to pass time at this remote place, so we often went there to have coffee and snacks.

Attraction | "An Adventurous, Risky and Thrilling Trip"

Lahaul is a tribal district of Himachal Pradesh in India and there is lot to explore in terms of natural beauty but the travel in the months beyond August becomes somewhat Risky and this is what happened with me. The stay at keylong was quite comfortable though but due to heavy snowfall on the Rohtang pass and in Lahaul the temperature fell down, roads were blocked and journey became very risky though thrilling.

Shopping

Attraction | "Little Shopping"

There is not a good scope for shopping at Keylong but still as a mark of travel one can shop the crockery like little bowls of chinaware that can be used for soups, teas etc. The long cups with lids, some local ornaments of stones, beads, traditional dress, scarfs, statues etc. can be purchased. For tourists, the bags are also available so that they can trek and hike but that should be purchased only if there is no option otherwise it is wise to shop them at other big markets of other cities.

Enjoy snowy evenings

Attraction | "For Adventure People Only"

For those who love adventure, it can be a fun to be there comfortable in the Hotel room and enjoy the snowy evenings which make the peaks of mountains glamourous. There is chill which can also be enjoyed with the sips of soups, coffee, wine etc. along with local non-vegetarian dishes. Packed up with woollens and warmers it is lovely to go outdoors and watch the mountain peaks but then one should have enough quota of warm clothes because there is also a problem of drying those up. Care is taken not to go to risky places as sometimes the blocks of ice falling from trees may hit the body and injure. So to enjoy snowy evenings outdoors one should be very very careful.

Travelling trough the snowy peaks was a thrilling and beautiful but very risky experience. It was more terrible to wait among the glaciers for the way to clear up and watching the snow everywhere. There were lot of people trapped on the way and it seemed very tough to imagine what will happen if the pass dosn't give the way. There would have been the problem of food and shelter for veryone trapped but thank God, the way was cleared up by the authorities in the noon and everyone could reach upto the safe places.

The look of lovely Lahaul is entirely different when there is no snowfall from the times of snowfall. The yellow, green, voilet and red coloured vegetations on the rocks make a lovely colourful scene making the valley like a rainbow appearance when the sun shines.
