Yesterday was the first time I made the effort to actually be *there* right next to the fireworks! In the past I used to view the stuff from the balcony at home. That was a great decision and every ounce of effort was worth it especially since yesterday's entrants were from Canada! This journal will be updated every Thursday and Sunday for the next 2 weeks, in view of upcoming entrants from countries like Australia and France. So, follow this closely!Quick Tips: Though held at La Ronde on Ile St Helene, the best view of the fireworks has to be from the top of the Pont Jacques Cartier. At this height, you enjoy an unhindered view of the fireworks, plus you get to see everything that's go...Read More

My first effort at getting to this activity coincided with Canada's fireworks team, so it was extra special as we all waited anxiously to see what creativity our nation's team was capable of!

Words cannot accurately describe exactly what the fireworks were like, so please see the pictures for yourself! I overhead that Spain and Taiwan were crowd favourites while USA was a major "judge pleaser" with her show of colours and vibrant music accompaniment.

As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words"... well, I've got 4 to boot!!

The French team really won me over with their fine music that played a huge part in coordinating with the fireworks and creating in it what may be felt as remnants of life. Indeed, such an amazing piece of work can only be attributed to their age old love for music, art and all things beautiful.

Hi! Welcome back to my second installment! These pictures are fresh from my CompactFlash card! Yesterday's perfomance by the artistes from France was my personal favourite. The accompanying music was captivating and the fireworks, mesmerizing. Imagine being dazzled by these bursts of fire to music from Verdi, Yanni, Riverdance and the Gladiator soundtrack! All thumbs up!!!

The Australian team composed of what I felt were the magicians of today. Highly energetic and amazingly chorused, the fireworks display was dazzling and mind-boggling. They bought the spectators over midway to the tune of "I love you, Montreal" - I bet that brought them so much closer to the final win!

Catch the pictures that will tell a thousand tales!
