    Overview

    Quote:
I like biking on the fairly level road all the way around the island. I found the overall feeling of the place very relaxing. It feels as though you are able to escape the business that encompasses our daily lives. I would especially recommend this trip for those who live in bustling cities.

    Quick Tips:

Bike rental is cheap enough. Just walk around until you get tired then hop on a bike.

    Best Way To Get Around:

    Horseback (or carriage) or biking.

    Story/Tip

The island's circumference is a road on which people bike (no cars allowed as stated earlier). To travel the whole distance I'd say it would take a couple hours... maybe longer, but you have a constant view of the lake.

It is a very unique experience to be amongst so many butterflies varying in sizes. Ever see those movies where the girl is in a field of flowers with pedals and butterflies flying everywhere? Well, it's like experiencing that first hand and it is quite rewarding.

    Carriage Tour

    Attraction

OK so not a bus tour but the closest thing, and even better in some ways. The tour is not very expensive as far as I can remember (don't know exact price). It was probably around $50, don't quote me. The tour takes a few hours making a one stop at the top of the hill (after which you can continue the tour on the next carriage available or wait around for a bit (you can go to the butterfly conservatory).

    Fudge Shop

    Attraction

    Quote:
You can't leave Mackinac without tasting the fudge. There are fudge shops all around. The best way to get around is to try a sample in different stores and note which taste you like the best. The fudge is...amazing. For those who like a really rich taste, you'll get it here.

    Accommodation

    Story/Tip

    Quote:
There really isn't a place to stay there. There are people who live on the island but there aren't really any hotels to stay in. It is more of a place you stay at during the day.
