Fun week in Mexico

A March 2004 trip to Mazatlan by B&J

Quote: Every one of us had a great time. Food was of course delicious and plentiful, as were the native beverages. People were very friendly and helpful. There was so much to see and do that I did not want to leave.

    Costa De Oro Beach Hotel

Hotel | "Costa De Oro Beach Club"

    Quote:
We stayed in one-bedroom unit with a roll-out bed in the living area and one bathroom. There were tile floors throughout the unit. The kitchen area had a microwave, small fridge, and enough cooking and eating utensils. We had a balcony with an ocean view. The unit was very tidy and clean. It was nothing extremely fancy, but very comfortable. The only downside was that the air conditioner was not at its best.

    The staff was friendly.

    Gus & Gus

    Restaurant | "Gus & Gus"

    Quote:
We became regulars at Gus & Gus for lunch. We got to know the waiters very well and almost didn't have to order at all because they already knew what we wanted. The food, service, and presentation are all wonderful. This is open-air dining at its best.

The restaurant had excellent food, presentation, and service. Dining by the beach was very relaxing and could be romantic for just couples. Even my daughter and her fiance enjoyed the meal very much and they are usually more fast food-type people.

    Stone Island

    Attraction | "Stone Island Tour"

    Quote:
The catamaran takes you to Stone Island where you can select to do nothing, ride horses, ride horse-drawn carts, water sports, banana boats, snorkeling, etc. Lunch is served on the island and the food is delicious. The open bar is also a plus.

After lunch, you reboard the catamaran and tour to the other islands, passing Deer Island, Goat Island, and Bird Island. You’ll see sea lions, too – boy, they are huge. There’s music playing on the boat and the man tells you all about the area (he told us to call his Arthur because no one could pronounce his name) -- he was very friendly and helpful.

    Fiesta Mexicana

    Attraction

    Quote:
Our evening at the Fiesta Mexicana was filled with great Mexican dishes, drinks all around, and live performances from dancing to magic tricks. It was so much fun. Even some members of the audience participated in the activities on stage.
