This hotel is a renovated paper factory. Located on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, your stay will be unforgettable. The lobby was redone in a nautical decor. It looks like an old cruise ship from the '50s, with the wooden panels, brass fixtures, and portholes as windows. The rooms are done in the same decor and all have a fabulous view of the Mediterranean Sea. Unlike most European rooms, we had ample space, a queen-size bed, nightstand, a small table, chairs, and a chest of drawers. The hotel restaurant is overlooking the Amalfi Coast.
You sit high in the mountainside enjoying a fabulous sunset as you dine. The tables are covered with white tablecloths. The waiters are dressed in white tuxedos. The dining experience is a relaxing evening. We sat by candlelight enjoying the extraordinary view. The service and food are outstanding. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. The hotel provides a continental breakfast. This was one of the few places in Italy you can have a soft-boiled egg for breakfast.
The pool area is built right into the rocks. Do not be surprised when you jump in and you taste saltwater. Chairs and towels are available at no charge. You also have access to the sea. An area is roped off for swimming, or you can take a raft and just relax in the water.
The hotel is about a 10-minute bus ride to the town of Amalfi. Public transportation is available to most towns along the coast. You can also take a water taxi to the island of Capri. It is about an hour trip. If you wish to visit the town of Ravello, you must take a taxi. The cost is about $25.00 one way. We traveled with people who took a taxi up to Ravello and hiked down the trail that leads you to our hotel. I heard the view is magnificent, and the town is charming.
I would recommend staying at this hotel. The service, food, and atmosphere are excellent. This was one of the best hotels we stayed at in Italy.
