The church is a mixture of Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine forms. Head towards the altar area. On the left through an arched entrance is the Capella dell'Arca del Santo. This chapel contains the tomb of St. Anthony. You will find many gifts and testimonies to the saints prayers of intercession on behalf of those in trouble.
Continue beyond the choir to the Capella del Tesoro. You will find relics of St. Anthony. Several years ago his jaw was stolen, but has been returned. You can also view his tongue and vocal chords. St. Anthony was renowned as a preacher.
