Description: A peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens offers a piece of serenity. With over 10,000 types of plants, the gardens house climate-themed structures as well as plants indigenous to the area. And a large number of cherry blossoms are featured in a Cherry Blossom Festival each spring. The Gardens are home to a number of scientific research stations as well, with programs for kids to teach the importance of horticulture as well as an herbarium with thousands of documented species.
