On the Tropical Tour, we met at the restaurant Bogart's then moved from there. Tour included downtown PV, a walkthrough where Liz Taylor and Richard Burton had homes, lunch, tour of a tequila factory and free shots to sample, as well as tour of now restaurant, but where Night of the Iguana was shot. Plenty of opportunities for shopping and sightseeing.

We visited about one month post hurricane Kenna. Unfortunately, the Malecon (the boardwalk) was closed off (heavily damaged by the hurricane) and was being busily repaired. Some waterfront shops were also still closed due to the damage. Other then not having a wide sidewalk along the road, this damage did not disturb our day. There are numerous shops to visit and some very neat architecture. We chose to eat at The Hard Rock Cafe (due to family members with bad food allergies); however, I would like to have experienced the local food a little more (there were lots of places).
Don't forget to barter! Just about everything we bought we paid under half the initial price. Watch out for Tuesday (Cruise ship day) as reportedly the prices go up. We didn't know that before we went but when negotiating, if you don't get a good price, tell the shopkeeper you'll come back tomorrow when the "cruise ship prices" are gone. It worked for a couple places and they lowered their prices.
