The vacation club is located about 5 minutes away from the main hotel reception area and is easily accessed by golf carts to and from your room. Our one-bedroom unit was located on the sixth floor of the seven-floor building, and we had the three-floor buildings located in front of our building right at the water’s edge. There are no nightwalkers here, as the drop-off is very severe and the pounding waves may keep some awake at night. Sorry, there is no ocean swimming either due to the strong ocean undertow. Use the resorts various pools which are lovely and you will arrive home safely.
All the rooms have an ocean view, and our one-bedroom came with a Jacuzzi and one and a half bathrooms. The kids loved the big 32-inch television in the living room and the 27-inch television in the master bedroom. The kitchen had a dishwasher, but the kids figured it was better to leave the dirty dishes in the sink, and then the maid would wash or load the dirty dishes in the dishwasher for a small tip every day because they were on vacation. We also liked having free access to the washer and dryer located on every even floor in our building, with ice machines on the odd floors.
We found the furnishings in good condition and had patio access from both the living room and master bedroom. The teak patio furniture was nice for stretching out on or just enjoying the beautiful views of the cruise ships sailing by daily.
This resort is about a 20-minute walk in from the Transpeninsular Highway at 10.3km and has bus stops located on both sides of the highway accessed by an overpass. A car rental is very appropriate in accessing this vacation club, unless you are on a student budget and can stay here by bidding on Skyauction if the hotel has availability at up to 75%-off rack rates. How about $250 per week!
It is possible to come by bus from the airport. You walk out of the airport terminal and follow the taxis and airport workers to the right who walk out towards the Transpeninsular Highway, which is about 2 miles away along the road fronting the Los Cabos International Airport. You can see the highway once you get out onto the main road in front of the airport. You catch one of two local buses for 10 pesos or the express bus for 20 pesos, which might get you there 2 to 3 minutes faster. Just tell the driver you want the Fiesta Americana Grand and you will be there in 45 minutes or so. You will see big numbers painted on the Transpeninsular Highway that tell you how far away you are from Cabo San Lucas at milepost 0. So, around milepost 10.3, you will see your bus go up a ramp at the top of the overpass to drop you off, but it does get hot, so you might consider catching a taxi at the overpass, as they come and go to the Fiesta Americana or Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar.

If you had asked me what I was hoping to do while in Mexico, I can honestly say that photographing cacti would not even have made the long list. But, believe it or not, I had a great time doing just that.
While trying to be fair and generous one morning, I foolishly said to my wife, "You choose something for us to do." She said she had read an article in a local entertainment guide about a place called Cacti Mundo and would like us to see it together. We left the resort, walked up to the road that connects the two towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, and caught the bus to San Jose del Cabo. We got off in town and walked to the center of town, where we found Boulevard Antonio Mijares, and proceeded south until we came to Cacti Mundo on our right. Did I mention that it was over 100°F in the shade and there wasn't any shade? Fortunately, the office/snack bar/gift shop was open and air-conditioned. We paid for the admission and drank some cool bottled water before going back outside to admire the displays of cacti and other succulents.
The whole area was set up like a wagon wheel, with the spokes being the paved walkways and the areas between the spokes being concrete planters. Each of the planters was filled with various cacti arranged in artistic designs. There were literally thousands of species of every size, shape, and color imaginable. Cacti Mundo houses many endangered species that were rescued from their original habitats all around the world. For the past 10 years, Cacti Mundo’s nurseries have been able to successfully reproduce and conserve the most important cacti collection in Mexico. I took about 200 digital pictures before my wife was able to talk me into leaving.
My suggestion to you, kind reader, is to pick a cooler day, if possible, but don't miss seeing this incredible living art show. It is well worth it.

We spent one glorious afternoon at Suenos del Mar spa at Casa del Mar. Amongst the unique treatments offered by Suenos del Mar is the Chocolate Mint Experience—the entire body is exfoliated with a paste made from coarsely ground cacao beans and mint oils, followed by a full body massage, and capped off with a cup of traditional Mexican drinking chocolate. My wife enjoyed a facial, and some tips on Sun defense that helped her to enjoy her vacation to Los Cabos without too much sunburn. Definitely a must-do for anyone staying at Casa del Mar!!!Close

This was our first trip to Mexico and we had such a great time. Our resort, (The Club Regina) was beautiful. I would just sit on our balcony and watch how beautiful the Sea of Cortez really is. The white sand beaches just go on for miles and miles. The average temperature was around 95 degrees. We went on the Sunset Cruise and saw the famous Arch and sea lions and Lover's Beach. The sunset there is spectacular. The food at the Tropicana in San Jose was Great! And the margarita's everywhere were great. I really loved Cabo San Lucas. We are going back in a year and I hope to see the whales on this trip. After reading some of the journals from other members, I would like to visit some of the other sites Mexico has to offer. Right now our temperature here at home is 34 degrees. It really makes you think about how nice 95 degrees feels.Close

The ATV Tour is an experience in Cabo not to be missed. You go out on a 4-hour adventure, south of San Jose, to breathtaking views and a chance to get dirty! First, you follow a guide out of town, and then off road. Covered in white sand/dust, you meander along the coastline (that looks like you are on a Greek island) to a place to play in the dunes. The four-wheelers are easy to run and shift. The multiple guides on each tour are very helpful and attentive to riders/drivers needs... supplying cold water, and even rescuing people as they get stuck in the sand. We will do this again, it was adventurous and beautiful!Close

If you check carefully you can obtain good prices online, but you need to check and re-check to get best prices.
Pueblo Bonito Rose is part of a three property chain in the area. The Rose, which is next to the spa unit, is fabulous. It has everything you would need or want and since it is away from the center of town, i.e. ten or fifteen minute walk or five minutes by car. It is quiet. It has a laid back attitude and atmosphere which is great if you just want to hang out without much more. It is definitely not a party hotel. The basic rooms are wonderful with kitchen facilities, i.e. stove, fridge, utensils, microwave, dishes, and sink.

We stayed at the WorldMark Resort at Coral Baja and it turned out to be a very nice place, quiet & peaceful and a good place to just relax around the pool (more on that later). It is a Gold Crown resort and everything is really nice. We had a two bedroom condo, so we had lots of room with a nice kitchen so we could cook some of our meals (see next pic). Our unit looked out over the Sea of Cortez. Since we were facing east we didn't any good sunsets, but one morning I got up a little early to take in a sunrise from our balcony (see pic). Close

If you're planning a trip to Los Cabos (the collective name for the two towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, as well as the airport designation), please use my recommendations as guidelines only. Although we lived there for five years, and knew it intimately, we have not been back since 1995 and things DO change. The restaurants I've listed had all been around for a long time and will probably still be there but owners can change. My BEST suggestion is to do as we did...get a map, rent a car (we took ours with us) and EXPLORE!
We moved there from Denver. Crossed the border at Nogales and went through Hermosillo to Guaymas. Caught the ferry from there to Santa Rosalia and drove on down through La Paz (the State Capitol of Baja California Sur; 'Lower California South') to Cabo San Lucas. If I can offer any other help, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. We loved it there and will go back to visit friends.
