About Me: I'm in my late 30s, and a Texan has now made my way from Houston to Atlanta to now Washington, DC. Some of my friends think I'm crazy, but I'm one of those people that gets restless if I go more than a couple of weeks without getting on a plane and going somewhere. It's probably a good thing that I'm a consultant/trainer that keeps me on the road for about 75% of my work week. And while much of my travel is work-related, it's rare that I don't squeeze in a little time for fun on business trips. I'm also a self-admitted "miles whore," racking up hotel points and frequent flier miles whenever possible to help finance my next big adventure. One of my goals is to eventually have enough miles and money to take me and a friend on about a six month, around-the-world trip. But that's still a few years (or decades!) down the road.
I am interested in a wide variety of subjects, such as history, architecture, aviation, geography, urban renewal, and psychology. My trips often revolve around some of these; I'm a sucker for amazing wilderness scenery, historic places and buildings, and busy urban environments. One trip I may be hiking in Alaska and the next enjoying the hustle and bustle of New York or Chicago.
I'm always interested in meeting new people and making friends, and consider it a pleasure to have been an active member of this site since the summer of 2004. I've had the pleasure of conversing with several other members, sharing experiences and learning from them. And thanks to IgoUgo gatherings in London and New York in 2004-2005, I've had the pleasure of meeting several of my friends here in person.
