The rooms were very adequate, given that we're on vacation which means not spending a lot of time in the room. Our rooms, in the Regency Club, were a very reasonable $125 per night if memory serves me correct.

The service was excellent, right from the moment of checking in (with your welcome gong!) until the time you checked out. All the staff were extremely helpful. The service was even better in the Regency Club where we went each day for breakfast and in the evening for drinks.

On the down side, the pool facilities are limited (in comparison to other resorts). In addition, the resort is a little bit on the older side so the rooms could use a touch of modernizing. That said, I found our king bed comfortable (not the Westin Heavenly Bed, but good enough).

However, as there is a free shuttle between the Bali Hyatt and Grand Bali Hyatt, you can take advantage of the far superior pool and beach facilities at the Grand Hyatt Bali. It was also useful that you could charge meals eaten at the Grand Hyatt to your room at the Bali Hyatt.

Of note if you are staying at the Bali Hyatt, there are dozens of restaurants in walking distance on the streets outside the resort where you can eat and drink for rock bottom prices (not so much the case for the Grand Hyatt which appears to be located in a "resort city" of its own and is somewhat removed from everything).

After it all, we had the best of the both worlds by using the Grand Hyatt's facilities and staying at the Bali Hyatt. I would definitely return to this hotel and I would recommend it to couples looking to absolutely do nothing but relax. Close

If I could have bottled the smell of the Frangipani trees I would have. It's a cross between honeysuckles, lily of the valley and strawberries.
The beach at Sanur was odd. The sand was like ground coral and the tides were not conducive to swimming. There were breakers but they were far out in the lagoon. We rented a kayak one day to get close to the breakers but were afraid to get dumped out and have to step on the rocky coral bottom. We did see some interesting sealife from the the kayak such as large orange starfish and black sea urchins. The tide was only high enough to swim, once a day and it didn't last long. When the tide was out you had to hit the pools to get relief from the heat. The air was much more humid at the beach than in the mountains of Ubud.
The part of the hotel we were in was older and worn (Ocean View King). The air conditioning left a lot to be desired and the in-room refrigerator was barely colder than the room. We heard the Regency Club rooms had nicer furnishings. Our room smelled rather musty and the bathroom needed a redo badly.
The main restaurant for dinner was rather expensive for the quality and the breakfast buffet was a bit of a rip off. A lot of other guests had vouchers for the restaurants we figured they were on a junket from somewhere.
We did find a terrific restaurant just out side the resort near the Hardy's store. It was called Batujimbaran Cafe. It was ridiculously cheap and the food was terrific. We ate there twice it was so good. Bintang beer was our beverage of choice.
The Hardy's store was great for souvenirs. We saw the same things in the Hyatt gift shop for three times as much money. Hardy's also had great designer knock-offs if you're into that. It also has a grocery store.
All in all I probably wouldn't go back to that part of Bali only because I know there has to be better beaches. As far as hotels in that area I'm sure it's one of the better ones but we were spoiled in Ubud.
The Bali Hyatt did, however, have a wonderful Spa. My husband and I had the duo massage treatment and that was terrific. 2.5 hours of pampering before we had the leave for Singapore. I highly recommend that from the Hyatt! Close
