Many tourists come to Florence for the day or stay in the outskirts of the city to save money. However, it's so nice to experience Florence in the early morning and in the late evening, when the city isn't teeming with tourists. Peak season (June) was 225EU for a room for four with a private bathroom. This, believe it or not, is a bargain for a family of four in Florence, where it's nearly impossible to get ONE room for four people. The room was very clean and very quiet. A nice breakfast was served, and they have a computer in the lobby with free internet service. Their lobby was filled with travel books you could borrow, and the staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. However, this hotel is not in any way luxurious. If you want luxury in Florence, you'll have to spend a lot more euros! But if you want a clean, quiet, friendly place to stay that is VERY centrally located, you can't choose a better place!
Tip: This place isn't easy to find! The hotel's "sign" is a small brass namplate in the middle of the block, and the hotel is upstairs. We drove by three times, knowing the address had to be there, before we spotted the small sign.
