The hostel has a communal kitchen with free tea and coffee, bathroom and toilet. You can ask to use the washing machine for a small fee. There are 4-6 beds in a dorm-250 kc per dorm bed, 750kc for a twin private room or 950kc for a triple private room. There is no curfew and no lockout but guests are asked to be quiet when entering the building.
The hostel is 3 minutes walk to the main square and there are supermarkets close by for provisions and Internet cafes (60kc per hour). I know that in the summer there are some excellent day trips you can make to Helfstyn Castle, Sternberk Castle, Javoricko Caves and Kromeriz town. Other people at the hostel were also snowboarding at a local resort.
When I stayed most of the guests made an Indian feast and talked long into the night... oh you may meet Sandy and Butch the resident Polar bear and Orangutan... don't worry they are models.. but bring hours of fun nevertheless!
At the train station: head for the farthest left of the glass doors, buy a 6kc public transport ticket from the yellow machine (and one for your backpack), take tram 4, 5, 6, or 7 to the right. Get off at Namesti (narodnich) Hrdinu, 5-7 stops. Walk away from the Red Church towards the red dome. The hostel is to the right of the UMBRO shop at Sokolska(St) No 1. Ring the Poets Corner doorbell and they will let you in.
Enjoy!!!!
