We re-visited this time share after 4 years and it remains a favorite of ours. Just take a cab from the airport directly to the resort. Avoid the offers of a free cab - they want you to sign up for a "time share presentation". Once you arrive - you never have to leave until the week is up!!!
The resort is huge - three new towers since our original visit. There are multiple pools, one with water slides, many restaurants and bars. Each night there is a different theme for the buffet dinner which usually includes entertainment. The food is excellent in all the restaurants as is the service and prices are reasonable. The beach has lots of tables with thatched roofs for shade with plenty of lounge chairs available. The beach is great for walking, parasailing, water sports. For families, there are some organized children's activities and a small zoo. There's also a large health spa and fitness center.
Right outside the resort entrance is the Paradise Village Mall which has a grocery store plus more restaurants and shops. You really don't have to leave Paradise.... But, if there is an urge to visit Puerto Vallarta, a public bus stops in front of the mall and taxis are readily available and cheap.
