I have stayed at the Riu Tequila 3 times and have enjoyed each time. I like being able to walk to playa del carmia and feel safe. The resort was clean and the food was good.

The food was excellent and I am unsure of others opinion but thought it was very good, good choices but thought ...Read more Check in was okay and as expected but remember and I say this alot you are on vacation just relax just a bit and everthing seems better. The food was excellent and I am unsure of others opinion but thought it was very good, good choices but thought the Mexico rest could be missed next time. Hotel was clean for the most part and remember it is hot and humid so things do not always smell like northern climes, want a change/help ask the staff nicely they will help. Bed was a little hard but I expected that and so no surprises. Room was clean and as expected so again no surprises. The pool was clean and FUN but did get a lttle messy in the later pm but that is due to rude and careless vacationers but what can you do. There were alot of kids at the pool especially later in the week due to UK holidays and so get there prior to mid July or check the dates makes for a more enjoyable time. Pool loungers what can you say it is what it is and again rude people cannot be changed so relax and go to the beach instead:). Employees were in the most part polite and worked there butts off and the pool/bar tenders were flying and again you are on vacatiuon so relax and enoy the company around you it is amazing who you meet and the friendships you can make. Shows were campy and as expected and in some cases NOT FOR KIDS again NOT FOR KIDS get the little ones off to bed by 10-10:30pm they need the rest and let the rest of us enoy the late nights and adult type entertainment. I have grown kids and would expect me to the do the same thing, but again after a few Tekillyas everything is okay. Taxis were great quick and no "Fare Changes" so again more than okay. We had friends who stayed at the Palace and joined us for the entertainment, might be a good idea for older couples to relax there and party with the crowd here (Just saying I am not too old yet) but might be a nice change of pace. Remember the price is right, you want the Plaza pay for it if you want a good time at a good price then Close
