Description: We chose this hotel for its proximity to the cruise terminal and the Riverwalk. It sits right across the road from one of the entrances to the Riverwalk and very close to the Convention Center. We arrived by taxi from the airport and were actually two hours early for check in. Our room was not ready yet, so we relaxed in the impressive lobby. The chairs near the lobby entrance are wonderfully comfortable -- I wanted to take them home with me! We also had time to walk back outside and admire the fountain and circle drive at the main entrance of the hotel. Our room had two beds and was surprisingly spacious. I had joined Wyndham ByRequest before leaving for New Orleans, so included with our room when we arrived were two of our favorite drinks, a snack, an information booklet on the city and a nice card from the ByRequest manager with her number if we needed anything. This club is free to join and I find it delightful to have a few of my favorites when I arrive in a hotel room.
The best features of the room were the beds. They were extremely comfortable. I have never slept so well in a hotel! The hotel itself was a bit dated, with a few stains on the carpet in the hallway and in the room. I didn't mind either because our room was very clean. The price was great for downtown -- we booked online on got Wyndham's Webrates, the lowest we found for that hotel. I would definitely stay here again for both the location and the marvelous bed and pillows.
