Description: We went to this hotel for just a weekend away. The hotel lies at a busy road called Kennington road. The location was quiet good with a bus stop nearby but also the metro station of Lambeth North within walking distance. We bought a 3 day metro ticket for unlimited use for 18 pounds. It was a really good deal since we saw that one ride costs about 4 pounds. The hotel is south of the Thames river and a bit away from the centre so we had to use the metro a lot.
The hotel was easy enough found and when you walk into the hotel it gave me a ok feeling. It’s not a luxurious hotel but a perfect hotel for a weekend away and when you are planning to mostly just sleep at the hotel and nothing more. The checking in went really easy and all our details were known. The staff was polite but not overly friendly. They gave as a quick explanation of were the room was and breakfast but that’s all.
There is an elevator in the hotel. The room was fine. Most importantly there was a comfortable two person bed which was clean. I have slept very good so I was well rested the next day. The room has several facilities like a television and a small desk but overall it’s pretty basic. The bathroom was quiet spacious with a shower, sink and toilet. There wasn’t any storage space or toiletries but there were sufficient towels present. The shower itself was a bit small and outdated but clean and worked fine.
There aren’t that much facilities at this hotel. There is only a small bar and there is a room where you have internet access o none of their computers. I think it’s mostly a business hotel. There was wireless internet available throughout the hotel.
Every morning the hotel served breakfast. The breakfast was good and quiet a large typical English breakfast with egg and sausages. Really delicious with several kind of bread and also yoghurt, cornflakes and lots more. The location was bit strange because it’s right near the reception desk so it’s like eating in the lobby.
The staff was nice and helpful and didn’t had any complains. I think it’s a good hotel and perfect for planning to see the city since it’s near the metro station. For me breakfast is always important and this hotel had that perfectly! Every time I woke up I looked forward to the breakfast and it was my favourite part of the hotel. The room was good enough and most importantly the bed was good. A nice good hotel and give it three stars.
