Description:
The Westin Riverwalk is located on the Riverwalk hidden away from the busy streets by hanging gardens, shops, and sidewalk cafés. The hotel is at the higher end of the price spectrum but was well work the money. The atmosphere is relaxing and comforting dressed in rich browns, greens, and reds. There are plush sofas and chairs for lounging or meeting with friends. The location is perfect. Not too close to the noise but in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. I felt right at home the minute I walked in.
I was greeted by an array of bellboys and lobby attendants. My luggage was taken care of and brought to my room. There was delicious dark chocolate imported from Venezuela available upon check-in. Very delicious! My room was beautiful with the white bedding and tan carpet and furniture. It was decorated in a style reminiscent of historic Texas. The bed was so comfortable. The Westin has a signature Heavenly Bed, and it defiantly lives up to the name. I slept very well. The room was very spacious in spite of the queen bed, entertainment center, desk, table and arm chair. The room was spotless and well kept.
The marble bathroom was luscious, with a soaking tub and large mirrors. The lighting was dim but there was vanity mirror for applying make-up. The soaps and lotions were very nice. They were high end and have been some of my favorite of all my recent stays.
The hotel also has daily "La Merienda", a latin version of High Tea from 3:30-5:30 offering Mexican coffees, hot Cocoas, aguas frescas and Mexican cookies. A Spanish classical guitarist plus beautiful music every Friday and Saturday.
The hotel also has three cafés, including a tapas bar and a Starbucks. I did eat in the downstairs restaurant and found the prices to be high but the food and service were wonderful.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
I can not think of anything that was not up to par.
