Description: Henry VIII hotel is a comfortable hotel located in the popular hotel area of Bayswater. The prices are typically between $100-$200, depending on the season. It is a very nice hotel for the price with some ups and some downs. Because of the number of budget hotels in the area, there are a large number of fairly priced restaurants and pubs. It is close to Hyde Park, and the Bayswater and Paddington underground stations.
The rooms are very small. There is just enough room for the bed and to walk a little bit on one side of the bed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, this might not be the hotel for you. The rooms have private bathrooms and a television. The bed is comfortable, nothing remarkable. The walls are very thin and it is easy to hear details of what your neighbors are up to. The hallways were quiet, but it was really easy to hear the neighbors.
Breakfast was included and to be honest, the breakfast almost made the neighbors more tolerable. First, it was always fun to play "guess the neighbor". Second, the breakfast was delicious. There was a wide array of cereals, yogurts, breads, cheese, coffee, and teas.
The hotel has a restaurant and bar called the Tudor Rose Bar and Restaurant. They also have a pool, but I was unable to use any of these services. (I was too busy enjoying London.)
The service was amazing. They will watch your bags upon check-out if you have a little while till you actually leave London. They are very friendly. They give you advice on things to do in the area and will help you get accustomed to London.
I recommend this hotel to those who want to stay at a clean hotel in London, but do not want to spend a lot of money. Besides the noise from the neighbors, the hotel is comfortable. The near-by restaurants and pubs and distance to the underground stations make the hotel convenient to London's sites. If you prefer to be right in the thick of things in a very quiet hotel, this might not be for you.
