We checked in, got directions to room 1119, was given a sheet of instructions on how to handle bears and ladybugs, drove to the building, carried everything in, and laid out toiletries, hung up shirts, and unpacked food and snacks. We rested until dinnertime at 7:00 pm, which was an owner appreciation dinner. We had dinner from 7:20 to 8:30 pm and returned to room 1119. Ralph went to bed immediately as he had sinus surgery on Wednesday April 25 and was exhausted from the trauma and anesthesia. Rebecca went to bed at approximately 9:30 pm. Ralph woke up at 11:30 pm and went to the bathroom. Rebecca was awakened and also went to the bathroom after Ralph. When Ralph returned to bed he turned on the television and when Rebecca returned to bed it wasn’t 5 minutes that Ralph exclaimed "turn on the lights quick I see something". Turning on the light revealed bugs scurrying all over the bed spread. Ralph caught one in a Kleenex to examine exactly what the culprit was, squashed it an blood emitted all around where the bug residue remained. We looked at each other and exclaimed "BEDBUGS". We pulled back the covers and we saw many more with blood stains all over the sheets. We caught three in zip lock bags for evidence and called the main desk. Within ten minutes a security guard appeared at our door and offered us another room. We declined in disgust as we were both very upset and were not going to sleep in that building or any other place we thought there might be bedbugs. We placed all of our belongings in the bed of our truck including shoes and Ralph’s shirt as to contain the bedbugs. We departed MountainLoft at approximately 1:00 am Saturday April 28. Driving home to Andersonville, Tennessee we had to decide on how not to contaminate our house of three years old and decided to call our house sitters when we got close and told them we were returning because of bedbugs and to remain in their bedroom because we were going to strip down naked in the driveway and head for the showers. We scrubbed each other thoroughly and finally got to bed at approximately 4:30 am that morning. At 7:00 am we got up and Ralph took all our luggage and clothes to a burn pile, poured gasoline on them and burned them, including toiletries, hair drier, flat iron, and food that had been in the room. We left her empty purse and the Bluegreen member information in the back of the truck to contemplate their future. We then drove back to mountain loft in a different truck as we were not sure of the condition of the truck we had originally driven there. We got to the main office at 12:00 noon and asked to talk to a manager. We were then asked why we said "bedbugs" and were immediately taken from the main lobby to a private office. When we talked to Terri Wilkins she was extremely apologetic and checked us out and made sure no charges went on our credit card. Little did we know we were the ones that should have gotten a damage deposit instead of them? She told us to call Assistant General Manager Anna Mason on May 7, 2012 as she was on vacation until then. We asked "what was the determination of the exterminator" that was called in that morning and she said she did not know at that time but she had seen the bloody sheets and zip lock bags with bugs. She and a maintenance worker had flipped the mattress and saw no more bugs. We left MountainLoft at 12:35 pm and headed home exhausted from the ordeal. Ralph was so exhausted he nodded off at the wheel on the interstate and Rebecca prevented an accident with her intervention. When we reached home at approximately 2:30 pm, Terri had left a message to call her. We called her immediately and told us to call Chris Iapaluccio of Risk Management for Bluegreen resort on Monday afternoon April 30, 2012. We followed her instruction and called him at 2:00 pm and had to leave a voice message on his answering machine. We called Terri Wilkins May 1 at 11:30 am and informed her we left a message for him and we were not called back. She said she would call him and find out why he had not returned our call. Chris Iapaluccio called at 1:36 pm obviously disturbed about us calling Terri Wilkins about his non response and he had only got the message that morning. For all we knew he was on vacation for two weeks also but it was all right for us to sit next to the phone for as long as it took for them to get back to us to straighten up their mess. Our life was on hold so the management of Bluegreen could "think". The first thing that was brought up was that there was other ways to exterminate bedbugs rather than burning our clothes. We explained that at that time of the morning on a Saturday was the only way we knew that we knew to not contaminate our home with an infestation. He also mentioned that we were offered another room that we declined. We informed him that we could not have slept after the experience we had just gone through and why would you want us to infest another room? He directed us to make a list of our loss and we e-mailed it to his office.

nice area. Om hill top about a mile from downtown. Very clean nice place. No sales pressure to buy Anything for me. I know they do try from other reviews.

Very nice. Pool, hot tub and front desk were down in a seperate building from the condo style rooms but this was not too inconvenient. View out front and back windows were nice. Over all very cozy, very nice.
