Spring Break

A March 2005 trip to Burbank by mrazzino423

    Hard Rock Cafe

This is one of the great Hard Rock Cafe's from around the world. It is a fun environment with lots of stuff to look at and do while you are waiting for your food or eating. It is a really fun place to do a birthday dinner. On my birthday, the waiter made me get up and stand on the booth I was at and he yelled out to everyone that it was my birthday. Embarrassing, yes, but fun, definitely! The food is also excellent, as are the entire chain of these restaurants.

    Universal Studios Hollywood

This theme park is one of the best. There are things for every age! Recently they opened a Fear Factor activity where you can do the same things they do on TV (you must be 18). My friend did it and made a fool of herself on stage, it was great. The live shows they put on here are outstanding. I have never seen anything like them before. Waterworld is like none other. Don't forget the tons of coasters and thrill rides.

    Hollywood Sign

    Attraction

This is the must-see while you are in town. The huge letters that say Hollywood. My suggestion is to find a nice place to see it other than the recommended viewing locations, to get a more personal experience. We drove up the mountains a little ways and got lost in a neighborhood, but got to see a great view of the sign.

    Tonight Show with Jay Leno

    Attraction | "Jay Leno"

    Quote:
The Jay Leno show is wonderful. The tickets are completely free! Make sure to get to the ticket office very early the day of (like 7am or so, they open at 8am or 9am.) If a very popular guest is on, be sure to go EXTRA early (some people said they were out all night!). Be prepared to spend half the day waiting out front of NBC Studios to get in, but it was worth it. I got my picture with Jay Leno himself and he is very funny to watch. It is much more exciting to see the show in person!

The City Walk is right outside of Universal Studios, Hollywood. You do not need a ticket to get in. The walk has tons of awesome stores and great live shows some times (check schedules). There are also movie showings almost every week or so, it is always fun to be there. Be sure to check the night scene out and take a walk with your significant other to a nice fun restaurant. It is an excellent way to spend a night!
