Mineral Wells State Park has lots to offer. You can camp, hike, rock climb, swim, boat, fish, mountain bike, and go horseback riding. With so much to do, you can enjoy a whole day of activities.The park offers boat, canoe, and paddle-boat rentals. They do not allow jet skiing or tubing on the lake. The lake is not a huge one, so they want to protect the area that is available for the other activities.Lake Mineral Wells State Park is a quiet, relaxing place to visit for a day or a weekend. Mineral Wells State Park is a great place for rock climbing for beginner climbers and if you are just starting out or are unable to get to a bigger place. The climbs are pretty high, and there is a wide variety of difficulties. The park has a great area for climbing. The people that climb there are also very friendly and respectful of other climbers. I have climbed there often and have enjoyed the atmosphere there every time.About 90% of the climbs are in the shade, so in the summertime, it is pretty cool; however, being in Texas, I would still take the necessary precautions for the heat.
