Quick Tips:

Get a map and a day pass for the bus and use them. It will save you a lot of time. If you are worried about missing something while on the bus, watch out the windows and get off at the next stop to look around; another bus will be by soon. There are lots of places the buses do not go. That is where you should do your walking.

The fortress is a must-see. Use the incline (9.60€) to get there; it's a few blocks directly south of the cathedral entrance. The fortress has many outstanding views of the city and surrounding country. Leave plenty of time to see the museum (free) and other areas inside the fortress.
