Honeymoon in Niagara

A September 2005 trip to Niagara Falls by lynn81

The accommodations were excellent--when we booked the hotel, we booked a standard room, but we did request a king bed, and when we got there, we were given a Jacuzzi suite. The staff was more than helpful. They have a 24-hour pool. The hotel is close to everything: 10 minutes from the Falls and 5 from the Fallsview Casino. Great location.

The service at this restaurant was excellent, but the food not worth the money. We both ordered Monterey jack chicken. We can handle a little spice, but what came on this plate you could not even imagine. It was smothered with cheese alright, but what they forget to mention is the fact that they put chili peppers on before the cheese. We couldn't eat the meal and they didn't even give us a discounted price or offer us something else.

This place was amazing. The service was so delightful, and they were friendly, polite, and there whenever you needed something. We each got sirloin steak and chicken, veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. It was a huge portion for the price, the food was so great, and the apple cheesecake dessert to die for.

This place was a picture out of a fairy tale. It was amazing and gorgeous. You walk in and all around you are trees and interactive animals. They have snakes that move, elephants, and gorillas, as well as butterflies, and every half-hour they have a lightning and thunder storm. It is amazing to say the least. Not to mention that when you walk into the washroom, it’s like a scene out of a movie. They have a lady there with soap, a hand towel, and any cosmetics you need!!! The meal was very delightful as well. We had country-fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes. I can't say enough about this place. It is great for all ages. Go and you'll see what I mean.

While on vacation, we went to Marine Land one day, saw a dolphin, seal, and walrus show, and saw the killer whales. We also paid to have our picture with them and got to pat them and feed them as well. We also saw Beluga whales. We then spent a day on the Maid of the Mist, and that was an incredible experience--you get these blue plastic ponchos, and you think, why do I need this? Well, unless you bring an extra change of clothes, you will want to wear it; the Maid of the Mist brings you right to the the base of the Falls. It is amazing to be that close to them. We also went to Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum of Hollywood stars and then to Ripley's Believe It or Not--they were pretty cool. Overall, t...Read More
