Planet Hollywood on St Catherine St is a great tourist attraction as well as a great place to eat. Be sure to check out the Olympic Stadium by Sherbrooke St -- it was the location of the Canada winter games years ago.
Quick Tips:
If you do decide to go visit Montreal, I would suggest going for at least a week because you just cannot see everything if you go any less than that. A car would be needed to get the full experience as there is so much to see and do.
I went on various websites before I went to Montreal just so that I could see what was going on around the city and see where all of the tourist attractions that i may have been interested in were located. Once I decided on the various locations i was interested in I purchased a map of Montreal, so that I could easily find each location and navigate where I wanted to go first, it was a great help.
If shopping is your thing you should definitely take a day for shopping because there are so many great malls and little boutiques, I took a day and went shopping on St Catherine St; we did it all by walking which was also a great way to see everything in downtown Montreal, which we found was the best way to see everything in that area.
Best Way To Get Around:
When we were in Montreal we got everywhere on the metro -- tickets were the same as on a bus and it was so much easier and faster than the bus would have been. We didn't have a car to get around in to see everything but we wish we had because in a car we would have been able to actually get around better and look at everything. Even if you have a car available to you if you visit Montreal we would really recommend that you still take a day to walk around downtown. If you do decide to take a day for shopping, which I would recommend, use that time for your day to walk around because some of the busy shopping is located underground at the underground pedestrian network, which was pretty cool.
