Delhi celebrates

Someone sent me this exciting link today:
http://delhitourism.gov.in/publicpage/dcprog.pdf
To coincide with the Commonwealth Games that Delhi's hosting in October 2010, Delhi Tourism and a host of other agencies are organising a 2-month long (September-November) extravaganza of cultural programmes: theatre, traditional dances, cinema, music, handicrafts, etc. The PDF is a list of all the events, listed in chronological order. I've only just started looking through it myself, but it sounds very promising...

Thanks Madhulika
- we have a total of 5 nights in Delhi on our next trip so I'll give this a really good look.
Let me know if there are any you particularly recommend.
I'm also really excited at the new lines opening for the Metro - we've booked a B&B that's 10 doors from a metro station that hasn't yet opened. But I'm confident it will be running smoothly by mid October.
I'm SO pleased we're going to get to see Delhi wearing all her finery and putting on a show - even if we're not quite there at the right time for the games.

If you let me know which metro station you're going to be staying close to, I can probably find out what the status on that is! My sister's doing a heritage-related project for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (they're doing up stations with posters on what heritage sights are in the vicinity), so she's generally in the know about which line's opening when.
I'll examine that PDF and pick out the ones I think would be good.
