The original nightlife strip was on Hengshan Road (Hengshan metro station), but it's looking a bit dated and seedy. However, the joints around Dongping Road and Hengshan have a bit more style and you'll find The Blarney Stone there if you are in need of an Irish bar. Sasha's on the corner is a landmark building, and next door is Zapata's where Wednesday is ladies night with free flow margaritas and Mondays all-you-can-eat tacos RMB25.
Maoming (South) Rd and Julu Rd is the newer, younger bar scene. Guys and gals are spilling out onto the road, as drinkers wander from spot to spot. A short walk away is Fuxing Park, where you'll find Park 97 (pretentious) and Guandii (good music).
