There's seating for maybe 50 people, and we were about four feet from the stage, so the setting was about as intimate as it gets. Unfortunately, the intimate setting turned out to be a mixed bag. We were so close to the other patrons that an open-mouthed chewer a row away turned out to be a huge distraction, and the lack of amplification meant the "loud" instruments (drums, sax) drowned out the piano and bass. Overall, though, it's a relaxed, not-too-expensive place to hang out for an evening.
The upstairs holds a restaurant and "tea salon," so the drink menu contains an unusual number of teas. Although it's strictly a "drink menu" -- no food -- we arrived hungry, and the waiter kindly ran upstairs and fetched a tart to get us through the show.
From journal Paris for a weekend? In JANUARY?!?
