Description: My wife and I were excited to find out about Liliget Feast House, after doing a considerable amount of research on restaurants in Vancouver. Because my wife has a couple of food allergies (wheat and beef), we are always on the lookout for restaurants that serve wild game.
The decor of restaurant is very interesting and unique. There is lots of wood inside the restaurant, and the seating is unlike anything I have seen before. The tables are very low to the ground, and remind you of a Japanese style table. The ends of the table are hinged, and by pulling them up you can then climb into your seat and hang your feet into the well below the table.
The complimentary basket of bread and smoked salmon cream cheese was very tasty. The bread reminded me of a dense yeast roll.
My wife ordered the Liliget Feast platter for one. She was happy with the fish, but found the Buffalo sausage to be very chewy. The rice medley was bland and needed seasoning.
I ordered the Alder Grilled Elk, and was not happy with the meal. The meat had a nice flavor, but was undercooked and was very chewy. The mashed potatoes were extremely bland, and seemed to be the insides scooped out of a baked potato.
We decided to skip on dessert as a couple of tables around us left their desserts essentially uneaten.
Unfortunately, the meal didn't meet the uniqueness of the decor.
