Description: Those in search of quality Sri Lankan handicrafts can’t miss a trip to one of Laksala’s many retail outlets. Run by the Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board, these stores are stocked with some of the best authentic handicrafts in the country. Colombo’s Laksala is housed in a large colonial building near the Fort and is stocked with batik fabrics and wall hangings, couir rugs, lacquerwork, brassware, silverware, terracotta and a host of other locally-made goodies.
