It is not the National Palace Museum, but if you are running out of things to do, the National Museum of History is not disappointing. The museum has hundreds of items on display, many going back to 5000 and 6000 B.C.
The museum does not allow pictures to be taken, but it does have self guided audio guide that is in English and can be picked up at the information booth at the entrance.
The price has gone up from $20NT to $30NT, but I can think of very few places near as nice to visit for only a $1 US.
