Description: Sonoran Sun Resort
I have stayed at each of the Sonoran Resorts: Sonoran Spa, Sonoran Sea, and Sonoran Sun. Each is a little nicer than the previous, though they are all very, very nice.
Sonoran Sun is bright orange, which put me immediately in a Mexico vacation mood. The breezeway from the parking lot, past the office, restaurant, fitness room, and store to the pool area, and the beach beyond is very festive. During our stay, a band played each night in the breezeway near the restaurant.
Our unit, W309, was beautiful. There are many little touches to make your stay comfortable. The master bedroom and the front bedroom both have king-size beds. The middle bedroom has queen-size bunk beds. Each bedroom and the living area has a TV and DVD player.
Fans on the balcony made sitting out there bearable in July. Be sure to bring binoculars to see dolphins, whales, and pelicans in season. You'll also want to watch parasailors and shrimp boats!
The fitness room has a good selection of equipment, and TVs to keep you from getting bored. There are no towels or water, so bring your own from your condo.
There are three adjoining pools, including a shallow kiddie pool and two hot tubs. There is a swim-up bar that appeared to only be open during daylight hours. Palapas on the beach are first-come first-serve, with no fee--a welcomed surprise.
