Took public buses everywhere. The Lighthouse restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The staff are very friendly and always welcoming. The food was incredible and the atmosphere made everything worthwhile. Melisa, the owner, is an excellent host and wonderful man. For anyone who is thinking of going to the Malaga area and you have the opportunity to visit his establishment, DO IT. You will not regret your visit. We came on a marketing trip from Club La Costa - me (22), my sister (20) and our parents (50). The sales thing did actually take a really long time but they weren't too pushy and we had a free breakfast. The room they showed us was only slightly better than the marketing apartments we stayed in in my opinion. It was just bigger and had an extra bathroom and a balcony with a tub on there. We had 2 balconies though which we preferred. We spent our evenings (very very late evenings) at the Lighthouse Bar most of the time. It's in Las Farolas and close to Taberna but I believe they will be changing the name soon (Melisa Bar Bistro?). The owner, Melisa, was really friendly and made an effort to cater to our fussy needs even though we got to the bar at 11pm for dinner. We spent the evenings all week there after our long days in Fuengirola, Puerto Banus and Morrocco. It was really nice and some nights were there til 5am!! (Our parents had gone to bed) They were really friendly and the drinks weren't overpriced and it was good because of the different people that came into the bar. Loads of english people too which was nice. I did find in Fuengirola especially that there were way too many english cafes with english breakfasts and fish and chips etc and would have liked a bit more variety. Overall the holiday was great. Weather was just perfect and warm and on the beach in Fuelgirola we all got nice massages.  Close

A Good Place for Peace & Quiet

Even in high season, Las Farolas does not get crowded or noisy. Whilst it is not the height of luxury or fashion, it has good facilities, fantastic views, a beach very nearby and is a scrupulously clean resort with helpful, friendly staff.
The on-site mini mart is limited and a car is necessary to really enjoy the local area, as public transport is unreliable and the site is isolated.
We loved every minute, travelled around the local area by day and spent evening sipping drinks on the balcony or in the Lighthouse Bar.
If you like peace and quiet in a pleasant setting, Las Farolas is for you. Close

Resort Experience:
Las Farolas is a pleasant resort with very friendly staff, clean apartments, and fantastic views. It rained almost every day, but we still managed to have fun. The pool is covered every evening and the sun loungers can be taken onto the grassed area, as room by the pool is limited.

There is a great restaurant and bar, with meals ranging from snacks to 3-course meals, and also a covered area, which is open-air in better weather for dining and drinking.

The entertainment is in the reception area!! But it is very cosy and friendly and everyone gets to know everyone else because it is so cosy!!

The setting of the resort is very pretty with lovely gardens and each unit has a view over the gardens or the mountains behind the resort.

The journey from Malaga airport is about 30 minutes on a dual carriageway, although driving isn't for the faint hearted!

The 2-bedroom unit was without fault, with a double bed and en suite shower room, and a twin room with separate bathroom . . . very clean and recently refurbished. The kitchen was good with great view over the mountains and TV channels were limited. There was an electric heater, if needed, but be aware there is a utility charge for any electricity used of 20 euros.

We had a view from the front of the unit over the gardens and there were shutters on all the windows and double gates on the front door and patio doors as the resort is very security conscious.

Being a Club Las Costa resort means the courtesy bus will pick you up and take you to other CLC resorts if required.

There is a small supermarket over the road and another restaurant, and parking is very good.

Resort Experience:
Club La Costa at Las Farolas Royale is an exclusive part of the Las Farolas complex. There are only 10 units, all self-contained with their own pool area. All the units overlook the pool and then look out over gardens to the sea beyond. This must be one of the best views we have experienced at a timeshare resort. This is a very quiet area and great if you just want to laze by a pool with a G-and-T. If you want it more lively, you only have to go a short drive and you are in either Fuengirola or Benalmadena, and places such as Puerto Banus and Gibraltar are within easy reach by car. The resort will call a taxi for you if you so wish, but we recommend that from a convenience point of view, you hire a car at the airport for total freedom.
