The ski slopes at Carriage Hills (actually, they use Horseshoe Valley's slopes) are not the greatest, but if you want to ski and just about anywhere is good for you, then this is a great place to go.
The unit was great; it was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a two-bedroom unit with a kitchenette, fully furnished. There was also a washing maching/dryer stack right in your unit, so you don't have to go outside of your unit.
There was also a recreational building with a gym overlooking the indoor heated pool. This would be great for people who don't ski (like me) but would like to get some exercise done.
The grocery store is about a 5-minute drive from the resort. It is really very accessible to the resort, as long as you have a car.
The spa was truly excellent. My sister and I booked a session, and we came out feeling so relaxed and stress-free! Take note, though, that you will have to drive back to your unit, so be prepared to have someone drive you back after your massage, or you might fall asleep driving the short route back.
Although the weather at the time was not so cooperative, we still had a great time and were so impressed with the resort; we are raring to go back again.

We had a one-bedroom unit with a full kitchen and enjoyed our own home-cooked meals.

The resort had a sheet of daily activities including tours to Toronto and Niagara Falls. I took the Toronto tour ($105 US) which took us to Fort York, lunch at CN Tower and Casa Loma. My parents, children and I drove to Niagara Falls since that tour would be too expensive. It rained all day while at Niagara Falls; however, we did go on the Maid of the Mist.
The resort had a marshmallow roast and horse drawn wagon ride in which we participated. There were plenty of activites for the kids including watching movies and making bracelets, etc.

The people at the resort were far and above any other resort I have found. We arrived on the Sunday and asked if it was okay if we held a birthday party on the Friday. Not only did they like the idea, but they also went out of their way to arrange for us to use the VIP barbeque area and have an extra lifeguard on so that we could all (eight parents and six kids under one year old) go swimming and hot tubbing. They bought our son a beautiful birthday present and were helpful in every way imaginable. Thanks to everyone at Carriage Hills!

In the basement, we had a games room, hot tub, and gym. Just a short walk across the parking lot brought you to the main lodge with the indoor pool, spa, and restaurants. The staff was pleasant and there were tons of on-site activities for everyone.
