Description: Wonderful in a word. The staff are helpful and very accommodating. Our view was spectacular- fully spanning the Falls. One of our friends had grown up in the area and said it was the best view of the Falls he''s ever had...but perhaps the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries influenced him a bit.
The rooms have a coffee (tea) maker, ironing board/iron, safe, refrigerator and even a shoe polishing machine. The bathroom was large and the shower perfect after a tiring day- with lots and lots of fluffy towels. The housekeeping staff kept us supplied with extra tea each day and we could read the complimentary paper snuggled under brocade duvets. A particularly nice touch was a vent under the windows that could be tripped open for fresh air. Hmmm- maybe our friend''s comments were right!
The downstairs lobby was very comfortable with plenty of assistance for questioning tourists. Another nice touch were large screen televisions which played a taped history of the Falls. I particularly liked that the lobby area was partioned into areas where groups could meet together and also little alcoves where a guests could sit quietly.
The hotel has a health club, indoor pool and jacuzzi.
What could have been better? I wish the desk staff would have let us know to call ahead for our car from valet parking. The cars are parked off site so if you don''t call ahead you''ll have to wait - we waited 15 minutes until we caught on.
