The concierge was very helpful. When we arrived, we needed help in making plans for a late lunch, and then making it to our CNN tour on time. She suggested we take Marta to the CNN plaza, and eat in one of the restaurants there. This worked out perfectly. Had we not used her advice, we probably would have not eaten well, and then missed our tour.
The same day, she helped us with dinner reservations on short notice. She booked us into McKinnons Louisiane Restaurant, which was near the hotel. Then she suggested that we use the complimentary car service to get there. I assumed that we would ride over in a frumpy van. Instead, we rode over in a Lincoln Towne Car, an unexpected luxury. At the end of dinner, we called and were picked up within ten minutes, which is reasonable considering how busy the driver and hotel was.
The restaurant where we ate breakfast both days was a little less than expected. On the first morning, we entered to find a group of waiters socializing. We were acknowledged and seated promptly, but we felt like we were interrupting something. The food from the buffet was good, with cooked to order eggs and omelettes, but I found the bacon to be a little greasy. My friend enjoyed the fresh fruit from the buffet, and was pleased both days.
On the second day, I ordered of the menu. The oatmeal and French Toast were excellent. Overall, breakast in the restaurant was an excellent value because it was included in the room rate.
The valet parking service at the hotel was prompt on each occassion that we used it. This was a real plus to this hotel, because it was included in the rate.
Getting into and out of the hotel grounds is complicated, but if you approach carefully on the main road, you will see ways of entering. The GPS system was less helpful in this case, but I relied on instinct and guessing to get to the hotel the first two or three times when returning from excursions.
The lobby and all parts of the hotel were elegantly appointed and well maintained. The hotel also connected to the New Lenox mall.
