We put in the coordinates and progressed along.

When we arrived in the late afternoon, we showed our printout of the reservation: King bed, Non-smoking, Pet. The girl at the front desk sent us to a room that reeked of smoke and had a full-sized bed. Hubby returned to protest and was informed that this employee was new to the hotel and the manager on duty had left to run an errand. The girl was flustered, called the manager on the phone and got permission to upgrade us to a suite since we were only there for one night. We wanted a first floor room since we had to carry the dog's cage and the only other rooms that fitted our needs were on the upper floors and there is not an elevator. This room smelled better and had more room for the dog's cage so we were much happier.

This hotel has many nice amenities...indoor pool with handicap access, pingpong table, miniature golf course indoors, "nightclub", meeting rooms, and both inside entrance and outside entrance rooms. The nicest room was the breakfast room. It is very large and nicely arranged. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and waffles shaped like the state of Texas! The whole hotel has been recently renovated - in fact I think that some of the renovations are still ongoing since there was no soapdish in the bathtub area and the robe hooks were missing from the back of the doors. One thing that seemed odd was that the TV remotes did not have the back plates on them, so the batteries could come loose and fall out. I could really think of no good reason for that, but probably, the hotel management has one.

Overall, this hotel is a good deal. I'm sure that our problems are a fluke since we have stayed at Choice hotels for years and have had very few instances like this. Close

I travel a lot. This hotel is probably the worst I have ever stayed in. It was extremely dirty. Had it not been so late when we checked in, I would have moved right away. I couldn't wait to leave!

Avoid this filthy dump. The rooms were dirty and the door was not secure. The TV did not work right and the towels were dingy grey. The water smelled and tasted like dirt even when made into coffee. I paid way too much for a hard bed and noisy ...Read more

We really enjoyed this hotel, great pool and fitness room. Free breakfast was best we had on our seven day trip. The nice young lady that checked us in was very friendly. Great location off of I-20. Would definitely stay here again.
