The resort was very well kept. For the price, the activities, food, accommodations, location, and attention were exceptional. We paid $240 per night for four adults, all-inclusive, in June, which considering that it included everything, was a very good price. The reception was very good, the place is beachfront (with a private beach), and very few people, if any, are in that area. There are two adult pools as well as a kid's section. There is a game room, gym, spa, bar/lounge, disco, night activities, karaoke, shows, and bingo, all on-site.The pool area is very nice, and they have good activities and food at the pool. There is a great restaurant with a buffet as well as menu options on the beach, and they also have another two restaurants in the complex.I was never bored; there was always something good to do. People were very helpful and created a very nice and safe environment. They have some nice animals purposely placed to run around the complex to make it look nice. Whenever we wanted to do something different, we just took an on-site taxi and did other activities---scuba, gambling at the casino, and mangrove boating--all very reasonable in price.Don't use your high-maintenance timeshare to exchange here, as you probably get a better deal by paying for this trip. If you go, exchange with RCI or II. You would still pay (not mandatory, but recommended) $30 per person for the all-inclusive, so paying the $60 per person is a better deal. This is Gold Crown resort, and it is very well worth it.Close

Best Things Nearby:The resort is located in the Pedro Gonzalez Valley and is surrounded by beautiful beaches and spectacular scenery. Scuba diving lessons are taught on-site. The nearest casino is 22 miles away. Best Things About the Resort:Hundreds of small black birds serenade the guests nightly as they arrive for the evening meal. The grounds are lush and beautifully maintained. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The multiple pools are large and not crowded. The staff members are gracious and extremely helpful. The resort offers an all-inclusive package, but it is optional. Adults pay $25 per day. Children are half that much. Otherwise, you can just pay for the meals you eat there. There is a fancy Italian restaurant on-site, too, for under $20 per person.Resort Experience:Check-in was quick and easy. We were given a junior suite with one bedroom with one double bed; one living room with a sofa bed; a kitchenette with a refrigerator, range, microwave oven, and all necessary dishes and utensils; two bathrooms; and a small room for storage. The unit was located in one of the quads, a short walk from the check-in area, amid the well-maintained gardens and fountains. The living room and bedroom each had a TV with 13 cable channels, some in English and some in Spanish. All units have air-conditioning and garden views. The resort opened in July 1993, and has over 70 hectares, with 22 hectares already developed and about another 50 to be developed. The beach is 2.5km of calcareous sand. There are three pools, two for adults only and one for small children. The children's area has an activities room, a child play park, and an area with surveillance for smaller children. There are seven tennis courts, five game courts and two practice courts. Three restaurants are on-site. La Cachama, the main restaurant, with buffet style service, is located on the first floor, beside the main banquet hall, and has a capacity for 200 people. Luciana’s, an á la carte Italian specialty restaurant, is located on the lower floor next to the general manager’s offices. It calls for semiformal wear and has a capacity for 80 people. El Caney Beach Restaurant, offering buffet and snack service, is located on the beach and has a capacity for 160 people. The game area has two pool tables, two Ping-Pong tables, table soccer, and assorted table games. The gym has a wide variety of equipments and a steam bath area, with service available for a fee. The on-site stores offer jewelry, bathing suits, and souvenirs; a travel agency; a mini market; a personal articles store; and Internet service. There are also four bars, a theatre, and a disco with a capacity for 100 people. The resort provides live musical entertainment nightly. There are daily water aerobics exercises and volleyball games. Local PADI instructors provide on-site scuba diving lessons (in the pool) and certification (including off-site open water dives). This is truly a Gold Crown resort in every way. We recommend it enthusiastically. Unit Type: 1 Bedroom Activities: Excellent Amenities: Excellent Unit Satisfaction: Very Good Family Friendliness: Excellent Service: Excellent Close

Best Things Nearby:BeachBest Things About the Resort:The staff is friendly and helpful, there are lots of activities, and the nightly shows are fantastic!Resort Experience:The best way is to take the option for the all-inclusive package. The food, the drinks, towels: everything is included. You have the choice to sunbathe, be in the shade around the pools, or take a short walk to the beach, and there is a lots of shade there as well. There is even a bar service and a restaurant on the beach. Don't forget to contact marcostours@yahoo.com for a sightseeing tour with a very good price, or, if you are in Caracas, contact metropoltours@cantv.net for a tour of the city with a very low price for a fantastic tour. Ask for Marcos in the email. Unit Type: 2 Bedroom Activities: Excellent Amenities: Excellent Unit Satisfaction: Excellent Family Friendliness: Excellent Service: Excellent Close

Best Things Nearby:Beach.Best Things About the Resort:Friendly staff, cleanliness.Resort Experience:Of the resorts on Isla de Margarita, this resort is one of the better maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was great to come back after a day's adventure and either relax by one of the two pools or sit on the beach and watch the sunset. Nothing is far from the resort, so for those who want to get out and explore the island, it's relatively cheap by taxi or you can rent a car through the travel agent on site. The travel agency was very helpful in arranging tours, a stay in Caracas and renting a car. Overall, the staff make the resort -- they were all friendy and helpful. My first impression, especially after the long flight, was far from good. Old furniture and the double sofa in the living room could not be folded due to a heavy double mattress on top of it. It was covered by a white sheet, nothing on top. The seat cussions were in the wardrobe. Five minutes after I checked in a guy came to count kitchen utensils. I signed a form where each spoon etc. was priced. An old metal coffee pot, all black inside from constant use, was called "a coffee maker" and was priced at $50 in case I decided to take it with me. There are two TV sets in the apartment, but you get only one remote – for the TV in the bedroom. The one in the living room can be watch while lying on the forever unfolded sofa and you have to get up to change the channels. The water from the tap is the colour of rust. To provide air conditioning for each separate building there are ventilators outside blowing out the hot air, I suppose, and they were just next to the window of my bedroom. They are almost the size of the one in Blade Runner (remember?) and make incredible noise day and night. So much for the unpleasant details. The resort has excellent facilities and customer service, which more than compensate for the inconveniences. They provide complimentary 2 liters of drinking water per apartment per day. They provide soap, shampoo, and hair conditioner. They would give you a call and ask when they could come and clean the room. Anyway, there is much more to the resort than accommodation! Close
