Halfway between Springfield and Branson, in the little town of Ozark, is Lambert's. There is usually a long line waiting to get in, but it is a must visit. It is similar to Cracker Barrel but much better. The main features are the tossed rolls and the pass-arounds. A thrower roams the restaurant with a basket full of delicious soft rolls which he throws to diners seated across the room. His aim is uncanny. Other employees wander about the dining room with bowls of pass-around goodies, such as macaroni and tomatoes, fried potatoes and onions, fried okra, black-eyed peas, etc. I recommend you order a light meal and fill up on the pass-arounds. All of the food is good.
Skip Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House. It has tossed rolls (same idea), long waits, and similar decor. However, the food is not as good. Go only if you are very hungry as portions are very large, including all-you-can-eat catfish.
McGuffey's, in town, is worth a visit for a drink and their outstanding nachos. Their meals are good but no better than most other places.
The Candlestick Restaurant is another must. It is a gourmet delight and has a beautiful view of the city and the sunset. It is expensive but the service and food are worth every penny. It is small so you must make reservations.
Not many stars were there in June. We enjoyed the Shoji Tabuchi show and the Baldknobbers. Both are outstanding and should be high on your list. We also enjoyed Country Tonite. The only disappointment was the Ray Stevens show. It is definitely not recommended for families and I wouldn't go again if it was free.
Table Rock Lake Park is a pleasant area with fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, and all sorts of outdoor activity. It also has an impressive dam and a huge fish hatchery. Make time to go there.
Old town Branson is fun to visit. It has nice restaurants and antique shops. It also has a old time train ride.
The Stone Hill Winery tour is also fun and informative. The tasting proceeded through their entire line of about 15 wines. The have a gift shop with some unique items.
Finish off your visit with a day at Silver Dollar City. If possible, plan to stay for the evening show. Everyone in your group will find something they like there.
There are many other attractions in Branson, including miniature golf, water parks (one of them inside), race and bumper cars, IMAX, etc.

As the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words," hence the reason why I've decided to not only tell you about the on-site amenities at Big Cedar Lodge/Big Cedar Wilderness Club, but show you some pictures as well.
There are two separate accommodations located here in Ridgedale, Missouri, at Big Cedar: Big Cedar Lodge and Big Cedar Wilderness Club, which is a timeshare resort. The BCWC (Big Cedar Wilderness Club) guests are allowed to access the Big Cedar Lodge's on-site amenities. Some of the amenities they have on-site are: Riding Stables Lazy River Heated Indoor Swimming Pool Fitness Room Devil's Pool Swinging Bridge Miniature Putt-Putt Nature Trail Restaurants And Much More....
Some people have claimed that this resort can be a vacation in itself. And it's true. In all honesty, if you want a relaxing vacation and don't feel the need to visit Branson, stay on-site. There are plenty of things to do at this resort.
Don't feel like driving? Then leave the driving up to them. They have a free courtesy van that will pick you up. Just make sure you call them in advance to schedule an arrangement. This resort is big and very hilly, so the convenience of having an on-site shuttle is wonderful.
On to the pictures!!! Hope you enjoy them.

As the whole country knows, this area has exploded in the last two decades. The Ozark Mountains made this, in many ways, a rather remote area for a long time, but the construction of Table Rock Dam and the resulting lake changed all that. Coupled with Branson's emergence as a national center for country music, it's a major vacationland. In response, dozens of timeshares and condos have been built in the area. I've stayed at four, including three with a golf course. All do a lot of daily rental business, and all are reasonable places to stay. Each has a kitchen, living room, separate bedrooms, Jacuzzi, cable TV, etc. That's especially nice if you're travelling with a family. Branson isn't a place to come for fine dining anyway (however, that's improving), which is largely in keeping with its target audience. Decor wise, it's a bit of a lottery, since you're staying in a place that's been decorated by an owner, according to their particular taste. Pointe Royale: 158-A Pointe Royale Drive, Branson; (800) 962-4710 This is the oldest of the complexes, I believe, as well as the most extensive. It's also an RCI Gold Crown resort. The development and golf course wind around each other, and there are multi-floor, multi-unit condos as well as separate homes. The 1 bedroom unit we stayed in was pleasant enough, but nothing special. It will probably need updating soon. The rates here were roughly $110 per night in peak season. As a guest, you're entitled to nearly $20 off the standard rate of $65 for 18 holes. If you really want to play this course a lot, guests can play a week of unlimited golf with cart for $200. Falls Village: 200 Creekside Road, Branson; (888) 318-3111 A Bluegreen Vacation Resort, Falls Village is located on the far west side of Branson. I stayed here in the summer, with a family group, in a combination 1 bedroom/studio combination. The construction is relatively new, and the rooms were in very good shape. The space was oddly divided, with the 1 bedroom almost too large, and the studio a little tight. The 1 BR featured a large screen TV, CD and DVD player, balcony, and very pleasant bedroom with a king-sized bed. Thousand Hills: 245 S. Wildwood, Branson; (800) 864-4145 Thousand Hills is located in the center of Branson, with condominiums along the edges of the golf course. The 2 bedroom I stayed in was spacious, with a very nice kitchen, well-separated bedrooms, and a large living area. 1 bedroom in peak season start at around $110, and they have units as large as 4 bedroom that sleep 10. StoneBridge: 50 Stone Bridge Parkway, Branson West; (866) 332-1373 This was probably the nicest of the group, with stone fireplace, well-planned layout, the nicest view of the four, and also the best golf course (rain kept us from playing). Unfortunately, the accompanying timeshare sales pressure was also the most obnoxious. (I got to miss most of it, although my host suffered). Close

French Quarter DOESN’T care about the SECURITY of their guests. On 8/27, our 2005 Honda Accord was damaged ($1,000) in the resort’s parking lot while parked. Reports were filed and we were told not to worry. The next day, management and their insurance REFUSED to accept liability. The French Quarter DID NOT take care of us. If a crime or activity to a vehicle happens on-site, the resort takes NO LIABILITY. We filed complaints to RCI against French Quarter for failing to take care of their guests, as a GOLD CROWN RESORT should. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. WE think that anyone considering travel or future purchase at this resort should seriously reconsider WHETHER the risk of damage to their vehicles is worth the price of vacationing in Branson! Close

This place takes on a whole new personality at Christmas. They do a nightly parade with Santa Claus, but Christ is the centerpiece of the parade. They also present a living nativity. Lights, lights, lights. That's all I can say. Everything is decked out. All the water rides are not operating at this time, and the park is usually opening later and open later til 10pm or so--check the times they vary during this time of the year. The food is wonderful. Get yourself a Thanksgiving dinner in the mine with ribs and everything. You can still tour the cave. It is sometimes warmer than outside. I have been here several times during the Thanksgiving holidays, and the weather except for once has always been perfect. Wear layers and leave a jacket in the car. You may or may not need to wear it. The wind is usually really still so it is very comfortable. Get ready to spend money if you like. The park has many unique items for sale at all prices. Children have the chance to create many one-of-a-kind gifts. One thing to remember is that this place is usually very full of people, so don't be surprised if you meet a crowd. Close

If you have never been to Branson then you are sure to find something you like. One thing you will probably find that you are not going to like though is the traffic. Hiway 76 was built when the town had a handful of cars per hour traveling through town. Then came the shows and all the attractions. Same road and thousands of cars. I have been traveling here many years and was introduced to the backroads and routes by a taxi driver in town. Hiway 76 has many connections in and out all connecting to the shepherd of the hills expressway on the north and connections to fall creek road and others on the south. First thing pickup a route map from any large filling station or your hotel. They ar big, yellow and also contain some coupons. You will use this map many times over your stay in Branson. I have also found that many of the theatres have a backroad connected to the backside of their parking lot now so don't be afraid to call and ask if they have a short cut. This can also help you when you leave the show you can miss some of the traffic jam when all the shows are over. Again the traffic may look bad but you will be able to get around because you know the backroads, and you can bypass them. Close

There is romance in the air...
I took my wife here for our anniversary. Keep in mind that this is a show with a cruise, so you might want to dress up a little. I saw more dressed-up folks than not. They take a nice dated picture so you can have a memory. The food is awesome (prime rib) and the show is great. I thought Todd Oliver and his dogs were a little better than the music. I have never laughed so hard in a long time.
Yes, this is a real boat, and you really do cruise on the lake. During the show, they break, and you get time go up on the different levels and stroll. It was dark, really peaceful, and romantic. If you have a SDC season pass, you get a discount. This was a wonderful evening of entertainment.

Enough Said.
It is more expensive, but keep in mind the dinner is included. I have never seen so many people get served so quickly in my life. You need to know, though, that you will be eating with your hands (no utensils). The food is great and the show is awesome. It has (of course) horses and many more animals. Costumes are top-notch. You will be amazed and ready to go back. I will be seeing this one again. You laugh so hard (ostrich races). There is audience participation and interaction. This one is a must. You will have to get your tickets early, because they do sell out.

Okay, I love Jim Stafford, and I have seen his show three times. I will go see him again, but I will say that if only see him only once, you will have seen the other three shows. They don't rotate their material too much. That is the only bad thing I will say because there is nothing bad about the show. If you want quiet, subdued music, stay home. If you want rowdy, wild, and crazy stuff, then go there.
Get there early. They have a great pre-show that requires audience participation. Jim Stafford is the oldest kid in Branson, and it shows. He has 3-D. Yes, you have to put on glasses. He has wind and water, and, oh yeah, there is music. I don't want to give anything away, because it is a good show. Go see this one first; you will not be disappointed.
