Spoiled by other Pan Pacifics

I'll admit that I've been spoiled by other Pan Pacific hotels. I've had some of my best hotel experiences at Pan Pacifics. That being said, Pan Pacific Vancouver didn't live up to it's counterparts. When you pull up outside of reception, the differences begin. We arrived on a Saturday and the valet/bellman seemed overwhelmed. We could barely find area to pull our car up, there were so many cars (no people getting in or out of the cars, mind you) and service wasn't prompt. It continued like that throughout the weekend. The bellman wasn't very helpful and the valet service was very slow. I don't love that you have to go so far to get checked into the hotel, it's up on the 2nd level and there isn't good direction on where to go, the 1st floor is a convention area, so it's crowded and noisy. Check-in was fine, but the line was very long and it just didn't have the luxurious feel of other Pan Pacific hotels. It felt like checking into any other hotel. The room was fine- clean, comfortable, and well appointed, but it felt a little worn. Overall it was a nice stay, I'm just used to fantastic when it comes to the Pan Pacific chain, and this hotel doesn't quite live up to the expectation.
