My best friend, my husband, and I went Big Cedar Wilderness Club for a wonderful vacation. The weather was perfect, the flowers were in bloom, and spring had definitely arrived in the Ozarks.

BIG CEDAR WILDERNESS CLUB
Big Cedar Wilderness Club is one of the most beautiful resorts we have ever visited. The units are rustic and beautiful, the golf courses are wonderful, the scenery of the Ozarks area is beautiful, and all of the staff at the resort is friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful heated indoor pool and spa, a lazy river for floating, a water slide, children's pool, miniature golf, and many other activities. Big Cedar is a wonderful place to visit to relax, too. If you are busy most of the time, Big Cedar is a great destination for relaxation and romance. It would make a great honeymoon destination.

Quick Tips:

If you plan to do any cooking, you will need to stop at a full service grocery store before you reach Ridgedale. The Conoco Station nearby has a convenience store that offers some items, but their selection is very limited.

Best Way To Get Around:

You need a car to reach Big Cedar. Once you arrive, transportation is not a problem, since Big Cedar provides buses that will arrive at your door and deliver you to the restaurants or any other Big Cedar destination. When you are ready to return to your unit, your transportation is just a phone call away. Big Cedar is also a great place for walking or hiking. We loved to walk down to Table Rock Lake in the late afternoon and visit the marina. The water is fairly clear, and we were able to see the fish swimming in the lake.

Best Things Nearby:
Big Cedar Lodge is on Table Rock Lake and is convenient for boating, fishing, and other water-related activities. The very best thing nearby is Big Cedar Lodge and its wonderful restaurants and other amenities.

Best Things About the Resort:
Big Cedar is beautiful, secluded, peaceful, and romantic.

Resort Experience:
Our unit was a two-bedroom/two-bathroom villa in Long Creek Lodge, the newest lodge at Big Cedar. The units are very modern and beautiful and built and furnished to resemble a rustic hunting and fishing lodge. There are mounted deer, fish, and other animals throughout the unit. Each day we would discover something new in the unit that we had overlooked earlier. We had wonderful views of Table Rock Lake and enjoyed eating breakfast on the outside deck each morning and listening to the birds sing.

We also enjoyed our early evening visits from the "Cookie Lady" and the wonderful cedar tree-shaped ginger snaps she delivered to us. We love Big Cedar. We owned one week at Big Cedar at the time of our visit and we bought another week before we left for home.

OUR BIG CEDAR VILLA
During all of our previous visits to Big Cedar, we stayed in a two-bedroom/two-bathroom log cabin. This time, we wanted to see what the villas were like, so we reserved a two-bedroom/two-bathroom villa. Our villa was located in Long Creek Lodge and proved to be a very spacious and wonderful accommodation for the three of us. Our unit was made up of a studio unit and a one-bedroom unit, so we had a lot more room than we would have had in the cabin. All of the cabins and units at Big Cedar are built and decorated to resemble a hunting and fishing lodge. Even the refrigerator and dishwasher are camouflaged, with a wooden covering over them, so they fit into the decor. We loved our villa and think that we will try a villa again on our next visit to Big Cedar.

The Jim Owen ShowBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

THE JIM OWEN SHOW
Jim Owen dropped by the Fairfield Meadows' wine and cheese party the last time we were in Branson and we decided that we would see his morning show at our first opportunity. His show is at the Starlite Theatre, which is conveniently located near the intersection of Highways 165 and 76.

We were able to buy our tickets after arriving and we enjoyed viewing the 1950s cars that were on display in the atrium of the theatre. As we sat there, I noticed a crowd gathering and there was Jim Owen, signing autographs and posing for photos.

When the show started, we found that Jim was as talented and funny as we had remembered. We heard a lot of great country music and a lot of funny jokes.

The Dalena ShowBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

THE DALENA SHOW
We first heard Dalena when we stayed at Fairfield Branson and attended the wine and cheese party. Dalena dropped by to talk about her show and sang a couple of songs for us. She also brought a very talented ventriloquist with her that evening. We had wanted to go to Dalena's show, but we weren't able to on that trip. We finally made it on this trip. Dalena appears at the Mickey Gilley Theatre, just west of the intersection of Highways 165 and 76. We enjoyed the foot stompin' country music, Dalena's many beautiful gowns, the talented ventriloquist, and the comedian who warmed up the crowd before the show. The show was well worth the money we spent for our tickets.
